I remember when RAGBRAI started in my hometown of Rock Rapids, IA like it was yesterday... even though it was 2007. Because it is such a special week for riders and town hosts alike! Lance Armstrong was there and dipped his bike tire in our river and whether you like him or not, it was 2007 so it was very exciting! AND after living in Denmark, I see RAGBRAI in a whole new way and would HIGHLY recommend it to Danes because... 1. Bikes 🚴🏼‍♀️ Danes know how to bike better than another people I know! 2. Beer 🍻I had never experienced a cold beer directly after a sports practice until I played volleyball with a bunch of Vikinas and many of the RAGBRAI riders know how to do the same. Skål! 2. HYGGE ✨ The small towns of Iowa go all out (just like Danes do for any event) and really make the atmosphere so hyggelig as you could probably tell from the videos. *Also I feel like Denmark would also supply pork to riders... that is, if there isn’t a pølsevogn (hotdog stand) **Also also I can just see the kongespil now... 😉 What other reasons should Danes/anyone experience RAGBRAI? What else is there to know?
