When I first saw @lorimiggins post go viral, I thought it was absolutely hilarious, once I read the comments, I was furious. I realized Lori was local and I just had to have her in studo to slap back against the bullies- remember your KIDS ARE WATCHING.

They’re watching what you post.
They’re watching what you comment.
They’re watching how you talk about someone else’s body.
And they’re watching how you respond when someone tries to tear you down.

Lori posted a funny video wearing her daughter’s cheer uniform while doing chores around the house joking that she was “getting her money’s worth.”

It was supposed to make people laugh.

And it did.

But when the video went viral, thousands of strangers suddenly felt entitled to critique the woman inside the uniform.

“I thought that was a man.”
“She looks too masculine.”
“How embarrassing for her daughter.”
“Attention seeking.”
“Trying too hard.”

Somewhere along the way, we forgot that there is a real person on the other side of the screen.

And maybe even more importantly, there are kids watching us.

So we decided to take those words and rewrite them.

MANLY → STRONG
MUSCULAR → DEFINED
ATTENTION SEEKING → FUNNY
OBSESSED → DEDICATED
TRYING TOO HARD → HAVING FUN
BAD MOM → ROLE MODEL

Because Lori’s daughter isn’t watching her mom be embarrassed.

She’s watching her mom refuse to shrink herself to make strangers more comfortable.

She’s watching her laugh.
She’s watching her be strong.
She’s watching her show up confidently in a body she worked incredibly hard for.

And now she’s watching her mom demonstrate something even more important:

You don’t have to become cruel just because someone was cruel to you.
You don’t have to believe everything someone says about you.
And you certainly don’t have to hand strangers on the internet the power to define you.

The internet could use a little more kindness.

Because whether we’re the ones typing the comments or the ones receiving them…

our kids are watching how we handle it.

Block out the noise.
Keep being strong.
Keep having fun. ❤️
