@ataskboston’s Silk Road Gala carried a powerful theme this year: The Courage to Keep Showing Up. AAPIC was proud to be in the room for an evening that brought together community leaders, advocates, public officials, and supporters to celebrate the work of building safety, opportunity, and belonging for Asian communities across Massachusetts. For AAPIC, being in community means listening, learning, building relationships, and staying connected to the people and organizations doing the work. Our Executive Director, Amihan Matias, connected with ATASK Co-Executive Directors Dawn Sauma and Cristina Ayala and founder Cheng Imm Tan. She also reconnected with former AAPIC Commissioner and colleague Elisa Choi, who was honored that evening, along with other former Commissioners and staff and community and civic leaders including Senator Vanna Howard and Senator Lydia Edwards. These relationships matter. They help AAPIC stay grounded in community and connected to the people whose knowledge and experience help shape our work. Thank you to ATASK for bringing everyone together—and for an evening that reminded us of the power of continuing to show up, for one another and for the work.

We baked up something a little extra special this weekend 💌 Say hi to our two limited-edition lovelies: 🍫 YUZU DARK CHOCOLATE BARS - rich dark chocolate meets chewy, zesty candied yuzu. Bright, a little tangy, very addictive. 🧁 LYCHEE ROSE CUPCAKES - soft vanilla cake + dreamy rose scented lychee buttercream + a sprinkle of dried rose petals. Pretty, fragrant, and super Silver Whisk. Best part? 15% of sales from both will go to our friends at ATASK - Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence to support AAPI survivors. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we’re honored to bake for a good cause. Shop desserts, support survivors. That’s the kind of sweet we love. Find them in-store only: Friday 11am-7pm & Saturday 11am-9pm Come for the yuzu, stay for the lychee rose, leave knowing you did some good. 🤍 . . . #SilverWhiskBakeShop #WalthamMA #BostonBakery #walthamma #atask We baked up something a little extra special this weekend 💌 Say hi to our two limited-edition lovelies: 🍫 YUZU DARK CHOCOLATE BARS - rich dark chocolate meets chewy, zesty candied yuzu. 400+ attendees, $350K+ raised, 10 years celebrated, and... 1 ridiculous cowboy hat "Thank you!" to everyone who joined us for our recent Silk Road Gala supporting the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK) and their tireless work supporting survivors of domestic violence and their families. This year's sold-out Gala drew over 400 attendees and raised over $350,000. With inspiring stories from survivors, ATASK staff and Keynote Speaker, State Senator Vanna Howard (a DV survivor, herself), this year's Gala was a huge success bringing together familiar faces and new friends to learn about and support ATASK. It was my honor to Co-Chair the Gala for a third consecutive year (sixth total!) with my Gala Co-Chair Vivian Pham, and our dynamic Mistress of Ceremonies, Irene Li. ATASK's mission is extremely personal to me, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to co-chair the Gala so many times (and for them "tolerating" me climbing chairs, taking giant selfies and putting on ridiculous cowboy hats - see photos). We also celebrated TEN YEARS of leadership under ATASK's incredible Co-Executive Directors Cristina Ayala and Dawn Sauma who have taken ATASK to the next level and inspired us all with their vision, commitment and never-ending dedication. Thank you again to everyone... If you weren't able to join us, please support ATASK and their invaluable work and mission by donating at https://www.atask.org/donate/

A week later, we’re still carrying the spirit of ATASK’s Silk Road Gala 2026. 🩵 Under the theme “Courage to Keep Showing Up,” Ngoc-Tran and Partnerships Lead Yvonne joined community members, advocates, and supporters for an evening centered on resilience, connection, and care for survivors and Asian women. We’re especially excited to celebrate that ATASK exceeded its fundraising goal for the evening—a beautiful reflection of the community’s love and compassion! The gala also featured powerful stories, performances, and the Survivor Journey Exhibit, creating space to honor the journeys and courage of survivors. A special thank you to Gala Co-Chair Vivian Pham and everyone who helped make this evening possible. Congratulations to ATASK on this incredible achievement!

Excited to announce that @saexia and @jaspercrystalwizard will be opening the night playing Saexia's wonderful music. Always feeling lucky to be collaborating with them. I'm also joined by the incredible vocalist @emmanayun for my music who will be representing some of the historical characters that I've been writing about for these last 5 years! And I'm experimenting with some visuals that @framesfromames has kindly created for me with her interpretation of the music. Tickets in bio! This is an immense collaborative show and would love to see people there at the beginning stages to get feedback before I set my sights on a larger production! Proceeds at the show will go to @ataskboston and the show will be hosted by @maximagiftcenter
