Over foiling your brunettes? Don’t ❌

I placed 26 foils on hair that hadn’t been lightened in over a year, as in super grown out, tons of depth.

We wanted to keep her a true brunette, so my goal was to not overdo it— less is more approach.

Ashley was my model for our Columbus color class.
We have this thing we do at the end of each class where after showcasing the final results, we pick one thing we would have done differently. We like honesty 🙃

I said the one thing I would have done differently:
Tone her ends at a level 6.

No matter what I do, I feel like I always chicken out and tone a shade to light because I don’t want to cover up the highlights we just put in. But truly, that never actually happens.

In fact, when I’m toning down a brunette, most of the time I end up toning twice, probably because I played it safe, but also because fresh highlights can look hollow with just one toner on a brunette.

I’m constantly thinking about longevity with my brunette clients so for me it’s a double toner or toning a level darker than the goal color. Plus, really letting the gloss sit for the full amount of time or longer ✔️

Day 2! Let’s go!

Day 1

Getting clear on where you want to go and what you’re building.

Shifting the way you think, lead, and show up for your team.

Simplifying the numbers so you can understand your business, make confident decisions, and create sustainable growth.

Building relationships, because success in this industry isn’t built alone. It’s built through connection, community, shared experiences, and surrounding yourself with people who challenge you to grow.

Spending four days alongside an incredible group of salon owners and leaders, having real conversations, sharing ideas, and building relationships reminded me why I love what I do.

This is about more than running a salon. It’s about building a business that supports your vision, empowers your team, grows people, and creates a future you’re excited about.

One of the best part about being in a room full of salon owners?

Realizing you’re not the only one with a million questions, a few growing pains, and big dreams for your business.

Shared challenges. Fresh perspectives. Real conversations.

This is why we get in the room. 🙌

We’re wrapping up Day 1 of the 124Go Four Day Intensive, and already the conversations, connections, and ideas are flowing!

If this is what Day 1 looks like, we can’t wait to see what the next three days bring! 🔥
