10 years of marriage 🥂 here are 10 reasons you will always be the best decision I ever made.

1. We have the same size feet (kind of, mine are a little bigger) which means I can borrow your shoes when I can’t find mine.

2. If we had a pair of left-handed scissors, I would need you to operate them. It hasn’t happened yet, but you never know what’s around the corner.

3. You’re the nicest person I’ve ever met, or that anyone I’ve met has met. You also give great hugs that I’m grateful to be a recipient of daily.

4. My family is your family. My friends are your friends. If I love them, you love them - no questions asked.

5. My upbringing was kind of… different. As a young person I lost my way (a lot). I never hid any of it from you, and you never judged me for any of it. Instead, you loved me harder.

6. You don’t ‘accept’ me seeing my friends, you actively encourage it - and call me out when I’m being a recluse (which, most of the time, I am).

7. No one has more belief in me career-wise, or gives better pep talks (often required when you’re just about to fall asleep). If I ever ‘make it’, it’ll be because you never gave up, which allowed me to never give up.

8. I’ve watched you live without your person for 7 years, and you still show up with your whole heart as though it isn’t the riskiest thing any of us can do. That’s some hero-level sh*t.

9. While I lost my person, you held everything else together so I could fall apart. I’ll never know how to thank you for carrying my grief, even though you were already carrying your own.

10. There are a million tiny things you do every day that show me how much you love me, from the cuppa on my bedside table first thing to telling me you’ve locked the house up more times than you should have to as our heads hit the pillow. And I’m grateful for every single one of them.

But most of all, I’m grateful for you. For us. I’ve been with you for half my adult life, and you’ve felt like home from day 1. So here’s to you, my love. To us. A decade of marriage is quite the achievement and worthy of a gushy post, I reckon. I love you 🫶🏾
