The making of Bury & Bloom 🌾

The installation holds the potency from buried seed to harvest: some forms suspended, some rooted to the ground. A space that is both a field and a temple, a place to move through death and rebirth.

At its heart is something I love deeply: seeded paper by @parsemainspapier , French paper embedded with real seeds. You can plant it, water it, and watch it bloom. Nothing is thrown away as the work returns to the earth and becomes alive.

Each piece is hand-painted with natural inks I’ve prepared myself so the whole object is biodegradable and can be buried without a trace.

Art that lives several times: once through your gaze, in your hands, then in the ground.

This is what bury & bloom means to me. The whole installation is an offering to be planted now, blooming later.

With gratitude to @parsemainspapier for the paper that made this possible 🌱

Spica / The Inner Harvest - The Archive of Stars exhibition , @halostudiolab Berlin, June 2026.

Day 2 of the installation

Each single card comes from Parsemains.
@parsemainspapier is a French artisanal studio based near Paris, dedicated to creating handmade seed paper from 100% recycled fibres and organic seeds. Each sheet is crafted by hand in small batches, combining traditional paper-making techniques with a strong commitment to circular economy and biodiversity. Through sustainable stationery and plantable paper objects, Parsemains transforms printed matter into living experiences that continue to grow beyond their initial use. For Bury & Bloom, Parsemains specially produced seed paper cards designed to become part of the artwork’s life cycle.

Day 3

The end.

Stamped each 100 card by hand.
Was grateful and lucky my mother @galeriemei prepared some personalized stamps with Chinese ink for me.

The result. 3 different stamps, can you recognize them?

Cooking/Blending/Sorting my natural dyes! Do you recognize which veggie I’ve used here?

Color testing on paper

I loved the result, so beautiful! I know it’s ephemeral because it’s completely natural and will oxidize.

Finally painting of my papers. I grouped them as a big puz

🇺🇸Last week, I made my very first serigraphy and I completely fell in love with the process. From choosing the design, preparing the screen, exposing it, washing it, mixing the inks, and printing layer by layer, I’ve felt very excited to discover the project coming alive at each step. That was a beautiful reason to wear a blouse again :)

I ended up creating 21 unique handmade prints, each one slightly different, each one with its own little personality.

If you want to adopt one,
just send me a DM 💛
I’ll be happy to share more details.

What shall be my next project?

Merci encore @atelierchalopin @galeriemei
