When transition is prolonged, it ceases to be a passage and becomes a condition. Persistent Interval takes this state of suspension as its point of departure. It approaches the present as an extended in-between, a time in which the old has lost its coherence while the new remains unformed.

Drawing on Jacques Derrida’s spectral understanding of time and Antonio Gramsci’s interregnum, the exhibition considers a present haunted by what has passed and by what is yet to come. Memory becomes a force of return and transformation. Traces and echoes resurface without settling into fixed meanings, moving between familiarity and estrangement, recognition and obscurity.

A gothic sensibility runs through this suspended space, not as a visual language, but as a way of inhabiting what remains unresolved. The old seeps into the new, leaving its marks upon forms that have not yet fully emerged.
