When I watched Ryan Clark talk about being released by ESPN, I didn't see weakness.
I saw something that can happen to any of us.
When our identity slowly becomes attached to a title, a paycheck, a position, or someone else's approval... losing those things can feel like losing part of ourselves.
That's what I call Internal Drift.
Internal Drift begins when external circumstances start rewriting your internal value.
That's why I teach Emotional Durability.

It's always good to return to Tuscaloosa. But this trip was different.
This time, I returned not as the walk-on, but as an author... carrying the same Walk-On mindset that changed my life.
Tuscaloosa is more than the place where I played football. It's where I learned some of life's greatest lessons. It's where I learned to believe in myself before anyone else did. Where I discovered how to compete with discipline, handle both success and failure with humility, and understand that preparation always meets opportunity.
It's where I met the mother of my daughters. Where I stopped thinking like a teenager and started thinking like a man. Where pressure forged character, and adversity became my greatest teacher.
This is the place where The Walk-On Standard was born.
The framework I share in They Didn't See Me Coming didn't begin in a boardroom. It didn't begin in corporate America. It began on the practice fields, in the classrooms, and in the quiet moments of doubt at the University of Alabama, where every day I had to prove I belonged.
Looking back, I realize I wasn't just earning a place on a football team.
I was building the emotional durability that would carry me through every season of life that followed.
Sometimes you have to return to where your story began to fully appreciate how far you've come. From the young walk-on who arrived with uncertainty to an author who returned with purpose.

The #ACW Team was deeply honored to attend the final toast for our dear friend and SOTL, @corinkie. Surrounded by her loved ones, it was a celebration of a life beautifully lived.
