You can’t reach people without trust. ✊🏾

Behind MAN UP! INC. is a mission rooted in community—and people willing to show up for it.

For A.T. Mitchell-Mann, Founder & CEO, that work means preventing violence, creating opportunities, supporting families, and helping young people see a future worth protecting.

Our first carousel explored how the movement began. This next chapter looks at the people carrying that mission forward.

🎤 We’re preparing to sit down with A.T. to talk about the journey, the turning points, and the work behind the headlines.

Swipe through, then tell us: What would you ask A.T.? 👇🏾

Before there was a movement, there was a child. His name was Daesean Hill. 💛

His life mattered. His future mattered. And his story is part of why MAN UP! began.

After Daesean’s death, grief brought members of the community together with a shared purpose: confront violence, protect our children, and build something that could help change the future.

That purpose lives on every time someone steps in to prevent violence, shows up for a young person, or helps a family find support.

Every child deserves to grow up. To dream. To make it home.

Swipe through to learn the story behind the mission—and why the work must continue.

Remember Daesean. Stand with our youth. Help build safer communities. 🕊️

Peace is not just something we talk about; it is something we build. Grateful to be part of the inaugural National Gun Violence Prevention Expo, hosted by Strides for Peace in Chicago. The day was especially meaningful. I joined A.T. Mitchell for a fireside chat grounded in lived experience, community, and our shared responsibility to save lives. I was also honored to have my film, The Credible Messenger, screened alongside powerful works by Michael Soenen, Takema Robinson, Chris Patterson, and Leon Ford. These stories matter because people closest to violence are not simply subjects of this work. They bring the knowledge, relationships, and License to Operate essential to advancing Community Violence Intervention. Having young people there with me brought everything full circle. This work is about creating a future where the next generation can live, learn, dream, and thrive without violence defining their possibilities. Thank you to Strides for Peace for bringing lived experience, scholarship, practice, storytelling, and community leadership together.

The stories matter. The messengers matter. The next generation matters. The mission continues.

We didn’t just run—we took a stand! 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️💚

Man Up! Inc. was proud to join New York City’s first 5K Against Gun Violence, bringing survivors, advocates, families, and community leaders together for one powerful message: every life deserves to be protected, and every neighborhood deserves peace. @stridesforpeace

Every step represented a life, a family, and our commitment to creating safer communities across New York City. The movement doesn’t stop at the finish line—we’re just getting started!

Drop a 💚 if you stand with us against gun violence.
