The Berlin trio’s third album lingers between the slow, the fast, and the ugly – with a title track reawakened on a Greek cliff face. Atomic Fruit has never made a record that follows a straight line. Serpentine, their third full-length, might be the first one that admits it out loud. Recorded over a longer period than their previous album, the band handled most of the recording and production themselves. With more time and fewer outside constraints, the songs were free to marinate and develop in different directions, and it wants the listener along for the ride. The result is a record that represents three different facets that the trio has been exploring over the last years.

VYLLA is a genre-fluid electronic trio from Hanover, Germany which was founded in 2022. A blend of Neo-Soul, Hip Hop, Electronic, Art Pop and Jazz creates a special and hypnotizing atmosphere. Their compositions make up an urban, extravagant style and transport you to the rooms of a dark, dancey disco. Spheric synthesizer sounds broken by Drum ’n‘ Bass Grooves, which are supported by strong basslines. The instrumental foundation is underpinned by political and honest lyrics, but also vulnerable and mystical vocal lines that take the audience into various circles of thoughts and moods. Through the use of effects, listeners are opened up to an experimental, abstract world in which they have not been immersed before.

💫 Berlin trio @atomic_fruit’s new album "Serpentine" is out today! Marking the band’s third full-length release, it was born out of greater creative freedom, with the group taking direct control of much of the recording and production process.

The record unfolds across three distinct sides – symbolically defined as the fast, the slow and the ugly – moving between live urgency, dark electronic atmospheres and an abrasive experimental edge. Tying these different directions together is a single thread: desire, conceived as a force powerful enough to become all-consuming and transformative. This theme finds its fullest expression in the title track, where it takes the form of a snake deity, protective and threatening at once.

An album in constant mutation, shedding its skin from track to track, it will be officially presented in Berlin at a special release party on October 24th. The band is currently touring the album internationally with “The Future Tour”, including dates in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and other European destinations.

Berlin-based trio Atomic Fruit are officially back with their third full-length record, Serpentine. Moving through speed, darkness, and deliberate experimentation, the album reflects a band refusing to craft music in a straight line.

Written and recorded autonomously over an extended period, the record explores three distinct sides the trio has cultivated over recent years: the physical, stage-ready fast tracks; nocturnal, Berlin-rooted electronic slow jams; and abrasive, irregular compositions that push far beyond conventional sound structures.

At the center of it all lies a single obsession: desire. From seductive love to loss of control, the emotional core culminates in the title track, where desire takes the shape of a protective yet dangerous snake-deity.

Serpentine officially drops on October 21st.
