The City League doesn't happen without contributions from 100s of people throughout the year. Actions that range from volunteering to work at the score table, run the camera for TCL Live, sponsoring a team, participating in community engagement events, sharing information on social media, inviting a friend to a game, mopping the floor, etc. Today we want to recognize one of the most committed people to TCL over the last three years, Brian Phillips. Brian is the Founder of one of the nation's fastest growing integrated advertising agencies, The Basement. He is also a big basketball guy, playing alongside The City League's Board President David Jones at Warren Central in the mid 1990s. David brought Brian into TCL in 2020 as his organization was our first ever Media Partner. Since then Brian has become a part of our team garnering the title "Special Advisor to The City League". His fingerprints were all over the success we had this summer. He was responsible for bringing the Art on Sneaker Competition to life, participated in our financial literacy panel discussion, and used his network to broker a relationship with our largest partner. More than that Brian simply makes himself available. He understands the complexities of executing an event like ours. Whether it is talking through ideas, issues, or acting as a chaperone for someone new coming to check out the action - he is around. Today we want to give a big thank you to Brian for all that he has contributed to moving The City League forward!

As we wind 2014 down and enjoy the Holiday Season, I want to thank some of the people that have made my CoffeeADay Initiative so successful this year.
Some of these I've known for years; some were acquaintances; some I'd never met until we sat down at the table; some of our 'tables' have been virtual; some have been over lunch; a few of the coffees have even been infused in stout. We've talked about everything from education to The Minority Report to family to work to community to food to Seinfeld to the economy to waste water treatment to religion to politics. Would you like to join the conversation? Comment below!
My CoffeeADay Initiative: 1 Coffee, 1 Person, Every Day.
