Yesterday we did an end of summer NYC trip before we bring Lily back to school this weekend. We started off at The Trainer Court, then walked over to Little Island (my new favorite NYC park). After we explored the park, we had lunch in Chelsea Market at Takumi Taco. We had planned to walk the High Line back uptown, but our weather luck ran out. We got soaked walking back, hiding under awnings when it got bad. We hit The Drama Book Shop and Theatre Circle for shopping, then did our best to drag out dinner for as long as possible, hoping that the rain would stop. Finally, we had great seats for Schmigadoon, which was an incredible show. Highly recommended! Overall, a great day despite the rain, thunderstorms, flash flood warning, and chance of tornado 😳

Opening Night of COME FROM AWAY was incredible. It’s powerful, but lighthearted. Sad in parts, but also hopeful and uplifting. Logan was amazing, playing numerous roles with crazy quick costume changes. He plays:
-Derm, the mayor of Appleton
-Eddie, a Jewish man who finds his faith
-Mr. Michaels, a lothario gym teacher
-Capt. Bristol, a flirty pilot
-One of the cardiologist cleaning crew
-Random town drunk background guy
Every role he played was funny and quirky, and he played them all great.

So glad we got to see @beetlejuicebway before it left NYC again. Today is their last performance before going on tour again. Really funny show, and the entire cast are phenomenal. We also made a few stops around Rockefeller Center, despite the cold temps and wind. It made for a great start to 2026!

December was a whirlwind, and I guess I only posted to Stories. Posting a recap here for posterity:
.
01 Attending Sacred Heart’s Holiday Choral Concert, including Lily’s first solo at the school
.
02 Hanging the Senior homeroom holiday banners at St. Anthony’s with the Fathers’ Guild. Messy, but always fun
.
03 Finding out Logan got cast in the Spring Musical, “Come From Away”
.
04-05 Attending both the Choral and Instrumental holiday concerts at St. Anthony’s
.
06-08 Annual Gingerbread House brunch at Dad’s golf club
.
09-10 Fathers’ Guild Holiday Party, including holiday songs by Lily & Tatyana
.
11 A beautiful Christmas Eve Vigil Mass at St. Anthony’s. It was Lily’s first performance with the Alumni Chorus
.
12-13 Spending Christmas Eve with my brother and sister for the first time ever, including a “delightful” set of reindeer games
.
14-17 A very relaxing, casual Christmas at home. Logan got a soprano sax, Lily got tickets to see Ghost, Jen got tickets to Beetlejuice on Broadway
.
18-20 Documenting some of my office Christmas decorations

Before we shipped Lily back to school on the ferry, we all took a class that Jen was teaching at Muse Paint Bar in Port Jeff. We painted the newer animated version of The Grinch. Well, some of us did. Logan went rogue and painted something to scare all the little kids in the class. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Another successful St. Anthony’s Theater production in the books! The Fall Play was CLUE, and was really well-produced and acted. Logan played Senator McCarthy, plus 2 police officers (one of which gets “eliminated” on stage). The characters were all perfectly cast, and really funny.

Our first Family Weekend (aka Pioneer Palooza) at Sacred Heart is in the books! It was great spending some time with Lily, and getting to see her perform with the Choir. Saturday night, we attended a great performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Black Box Theatre. We also got to see Lily working at her new job in the Box Office. We’ll get to see her again in a couple of weeks!

Congrats Lily! 🎓 it was a wonderful and emotional ceremony. Lily was also recognized with 2 awards for excellence in Theatrical Performance and Chorus. We are all so proud of her, and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in her next step at Sacred Heart!
