Nearly 40 years ago, Knights of Leather and Minnesota Blackguard joined forces for a monthly leather meetup. Leather Daddies and Leather Dykes spreading joy, community, and resistance against a government that hated and feared them.

This month, Twon Cities Leatherdykes and Atons of Minneapolis reignite that tradition, in the spirit of cross-club community.

Join us Wednesday, July 15th at Black Hart for BODYSHOP. Bring your gear, a readiness to meet new people, and the fire of resistance to tyranny and fascism.

Twin Cities Bootblacks will be on deck, so bring your boots and harnesses, chaps and gloves that need some love.

What an amazing pride month for TCBB! Our members were out and about all month long, from our annual pre-Pride gear swap, to leatherdyke socials and cigar smokers, to the Twin Cities Pride festival and parade! It’s the tireless work of our members that kept our community shining and satisfied during an incredibly busy and wonderful month!

Did you miss us for Pride? Want to sit for one of our members, wash the parade gunk off your favorite boots, chaps, or harness? Catch us at our monthly business meeting THIS THURSDAY at 6:30p at @umbra.arts.mpls , or find our members at your favorite leather club’s up-coming event! Full calendar of “where in the world is TCBB” coming soon!

Pride month recap💖

This month has been a doozy. Events, socials, networking, passion, community, friends, lovers. I’ve spent more time at bars and parks and cafes than my own home this month, and in many ways, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Time in the stand. Time in bed. Time on patios and in coffee shop chairs and meeting rooms. A month is a long time, but pride always flies by.
I spent every day fretting over the busy-ness of my schedule, making sure everything was where it needed to be, when it needed to be, how it needed to be. And then I’d get somewhere, and all the anxieties melt away, because I’m with friends.
Atons, Leatherdykes, MN Leatherpride, Bootblacks. These clubs and groups and orgs make up the fabric of my life now. I’ve made friends, family, lovers, shoulders to lean on. I’m met the most passionate, empowered, and joyous people I’ve ever seen - people with a seemingly bottomless pool of joy and commitment. Through the tears, the sweat, the spilled soap, the splashed pool water. Through the grit and sun and humidity. Through a world that still sees people like us a scary Other, a thing to be excised from the wider queer community. Through a political climate that has given fascism more power than we’ve ever seen.
We took this month by the horns, and made it ours. We lived pride our way, in our best selves. Clad in leather and rubber, rope and chain, denim and silk, we strode through this month as community defenders, community speakers, and community celebrators.
Happy pride, family 🖤💖 Let’s do it again next month.
