Last night, CBS Atlanta aired my interview alongside my friend and attorney, Gerald A. Griggs Sr., about defending our First Amendment rights following the No Kings rally in Sandy Springs.

I was cited TWICE! Once for public assembly and again for a permit violation. The irony? WE HAD A PERMIT!

We stood on a public sidewalk, blocked no roads, obstructed no pedestrians, and interfered with no businesses.

The First Amendment isn’t a privilege granted by government. It’s a constitutional protection against government interference.

This fight isn’t just about me. It’s about the 400+ people who showed up to exercise their rights.

Interesting waking up to some of these comments about First Amendment rights, state laws, and city ordinances.

The United States Supreme Court addressed this back in 1939.

In Hague v. CIO, the Court made clear that cities cannot use ordinances to arbitrarily suppress free speech and peaceful assembly in public streets and parks.

Yet here we are in 2026, still debating whether a city ordinance can override constitutional protections.

My ancestor was cited for unlawful assembly in 1828. Nearly 200 years later, I’m confronting the same fundamental question: Who gets to decide when we can peacefully assemble?

If the City of Sandy Springs enforces restrictions that echo the spirit of the old Black Codes, I’m prepared to challenge them in Court.

The Constitution doesn’t stop at the Sandy Springs city limits.

If the city insists on enforcing ordinances that violate our constitutional rights, I’ll see you in court.

1939 settled an important principle. 2026 shouldn’t require us to fight for it all over again.

Georgia Early Voting Update: 2022 vs. 2026

The latest numbers from the Georgia Secretary of State show that 862,228 Georgians have already cast their ballots, representing 11.4% of active voters.

That’s 36,848 more votes than the comparable point in 2022, an increase of 4.46%.

Here’s what stands out: Voters 50 and older account for more than 76% of ballots cast so far.

Georgia started early voting nearly 40% ahead of 2022 on opening day. Now we are seeing how those numbers compare as earparticipation matters.

I’ll continue breaking down the data so Georgians can see exactly what’s happening across our state.

Atlanta showed up.

Yesterday I spent part of my afternoon documenting the No Kings protest in Atlanta.

What caught my attention wasn't just the signs or the speeches. It was the people behind them.
Different ages. Different backgrounds. Different reasons for being there. Some came with anger. Some came with humor. Some came carrying personal stories. Others simply came because they felt their voices needed to be heard.

I photographed veterans, families, older Atlantans, younger generations, speakers and people quietly making their way through the crowd.

One sign read:
“My neighbor is not my enemy. My neighbor is my friend.”
That line stuck with me.

With another election approaching in the next few weeks, this was a snapshot of Atlanta at this particular moment in time—people gathering in the streets, expressing what they believe and participating in the political process in their own way.

Years from now, the signs may tell us what people were concerned about.
But I think the faces will tell us something more.

Eight months ago, my big sister, Dr. Linda Davis, was killed during an ICE chase.

Today, I stood before a crowd in Atlanta and spoke about grief, accountability, democracy, and LOVE.
