Year 14 of the Schrader 1600 didn’t go quite as planned. A storm rolled through Saturday afternoon, so I made the decision to cancel and reschedule for Sunday morning. We’ve done this now for 14 years and this is the first time weather derailed a Saturday night start. That was not optimal for sleeping on Saturday night but I wasn’t left with a ton of choices.

Somehow - all the pieces came together. @stankyfeet10 and @wvonrose said they’d bring the @fleetfeetaustin and @clubhouseoutfitters for Sunday morning.

@klivie cancelled breakfast with his fiancé and said @atxtiming would be out there to help out.

@bdeibel4 came and took all these pics.

@alonso__ball woke up before 10am after me harassing him for 2 weeks with registration questions.

@ben_duong, @elkinsdereck, and Dan Viegra gave up their Sunday mornings to help.

Can’t believe we somehow pulled it off - but it was worth it to see everyone from @will.powers22 and @620running’s Kevin Sanchez run fast and break through all way down to Kaycee Keller having a huge day and everyone in between. It was really a wonderful morning for running and to hang out with so many good kids (@jayan_nitzsche and @calebscheffler included 😃).

It’s getting too big for me to manage on my own. Hopefully next years edition will be a little better, more organized, and storm free.

Thanks to everyone that played a part in this weekend. I am forever indebted to you.
