Different ways of reading. Different ways of processing. Same potential.

Through our Dyslexia Awareness activity, the Accessible Education Office (AEO) recreated some reading-related barriers experienced by students with dyslexia and other Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs) to promote understanding, accessibility, and inclusion.

If you are experiencing challenges related to SLDs or any other documented disability, don’t hesitate to reach out to the AEO to learn more about available support and accommodations.

This World Mental Health Day, the Counseling Center invited AUB students to pause, reflect, and share what feeling okay means to them. Because mental health looks different for everyone, and checking in with ourselves matters.

International Day of Older Persons 👵🏻🤍

In celebration of this holiday, we visited Moadieh Evangelical Center along with our Professor Dr. Marina Gharibian🌟

We got to meet and know the older adult residents, engaged in a Lebanese trivia activity, pass-the-balloon games and challenges, and a creative painting on pots session🎨
We spent the visit singing and dancing together, ending with delicious deserts and pastries

Breaking stereotypes through our Ageism Awareness Booth👵🏼💙 in collaboration with our distinguished Associate Professor Dr. Marina Adra.

We covered common myths about aging, how language matters when speaking to older adults, a guess-the-age in a series of activities, and shared messages from one generation to the other.

It was also a pleasure welcoming Mrs. Sossy Balian as our lovely guest speaker sharing her insight and perspective🗣️

Finally, willing participants concluded with signing a pledge towards challenging ageism in the wider community📝

Activity prizes included vouchers from the wonderful @butteredbydee @sugarmamas.lb, as well as the yummiest cookies by @littlemissbakess, and the beautiful flower arrangement by @florista_by_tahani
