Train like a robot 🤖 you'll be a robot come game time.

Only run and don't lift weights? You're still weak as sh*t and won't be able to explode and put force into the ground on the field.

Speed is SO multi faceted.

It makes me SAD for girls when they only do running mechanics and hurdle drills, and worse yet, circuit training with a ton of plyos that aren't even done with proficiency and speed. 😫😫😫

And the biggest disaster of all,
over coached sprint mechanics that actually make the athlete overthink their every move and slow down.

Land O Lakes Florida Agility Training for Youth Athletes: What Girls REALLY Need!

You can lay out the entire rainbow or cones, ladders, rings and hurdles but if you aren't reacting, or making decisions, you are not training agility. You are training to be a robot 🤖

Agility is moving and THINKING fast. 💃🏼 🧠 💥

When you train BOTH aspects of agility, your female athlete cant help but be INSANELY CONFIDENT in a game like setting!

Sports are spontaneous in nature. Sports require anticipating the play, being creative, thinking two steps ahead, scanning, being aware of your surroundings, and bursting into space at the RIGHT TIME. You must train these qualities 🧠 ⚽️ 🥎 🏀 🥍🏐🎾

After speed and strength training for over 14 years and seeing our youth athlete results here in Lutz Land O Lakes Florida, I've noticed girls get more than just speed and strength improvements...

It's the confidence gains for me.

Strength and speed training means doing hard things. Staying committed. Being disciplined.

Maybe failing several times before you master something or lift that heavier weight or do that first ever pull up or beat your speed time.

And sticking with it. Even when it's not all rainbows and unicorns.

Then finally finding out what you're made of.

Confidence comes from ACTION and proof that you can do it.

Consistency. Competing with yourself and others. Commitment. These all equal confidence. And these require ACTION not just words.

This is true confidence.

In season ain't overdoing it when you're doing a progressively overloaded program.

You can still train hard BUT smart.

It comes down to dosing and proper progression. We still will lift heavy but it's not like we are doing 3 sets of 15 or 4 sets of 10 over here 😂😂😂

Or if someone walks into my gym the day after a two game weekend and is 10/10 sore, yeah, we won't do speed at max velocity that day. Obviously. 😂

But we will still lift as a day after "recovery." And we still play our fun games. 💃🏼 Movement is medicine!

These girls need to continue to progress in their robustness and the only way to do that is gradual loading over time and not constantly tip toeing around busy schedules.

Strength can be trained under fatigue as long as girls maintain crisp technique on the lifts as they add more load each week 🏋🏼‍♀️

Most posting training videos on this app are training the opposite qualities needed to prepare and EXPECTED at the college level. Sad.

In-season strength is your insurance policy!

It's NOT overdoing it when the program is written by an accredited professional who understands load management, dosing and proper progression.

💪🏼 It's protective, keeps you resilient, speeds up recovery, and continues to raise ceiling on explosive qualities.

Consider strength training like its own sport: you get to move in NEW WAYS and new ranges of motion you don't get from your sport.

Your ligaments, muscles and bones LOVE new stimuli! 🏋🏼‍♀️

Don't stop strength training and BUILDING your tissues.

It's a big mistake.

Best times to in season train?
💪🏼 Before or after practice
💪🏼 After games!

Again, work with a professional who understands your busy schedule and how to dose properly.

That's a wrap for our Summer speed and agility training in Lutz Florida 🤝💜 words can't describe how much I love doing our off season program. Been doing this for 14 years and love it more each year. The group energy. The work ethic. The commitment. The doing hard things. The early mornings. The consistency. The feelings of accomplishment. Nothing like it.

NO BS Agility Training in Lutz Florida

We TEACH the skill of deceleration and change of direction. We don't just have athletes do random quick feet drills.

Agility is a skill that takes time to develop through mechanics work, coordination and balance focus ,a progressed strength program, and putting athletes through various chaotic situations on the field.

Deceleration, change of direction, and agility days are our favorite 💃🏼🏃🏼‍♀️🧠
