That’s a wrap! 🌊

What an awesome project to have worked on. I’m so thankful to @augurgraphics and @devils_in.the_details for collaborating with me on this. Sustainable practices as a designer is something very important to me. This award winning project has already been featured in the London Design Festival, Peter Cannings Memorial award, EVA - Computer Arts Society, British Computer Society Moorgate and Camberwell’s NET Gallery. I can’t wait to see where else this project will take me and how it can continue to grow! 🚀

Here are some final behind the scenes…until next time👀

‘Plastic Vortex’, 2023 Award Winner🎉

Plastic Vortex is one of my final major projects at UAL. This collaborative project is completed with @devils_in.the_details & @augurgraphics and is the winner of the Peter Cannings Memorial Award 2023, recognising digital designers and innovation.

Plastic Vortex takes a deep dive into ocean plastics and marine debris caused by human negligence. The project is inspired by NASA satellite data that tracks the movement of micro-plastics in a densely polluted area of the Pacific Ocean, also known as the ‘Great Pacific Garbage’.

This series of interactive visuals include an audio and motion reactive installation piece, supporting editorial and augmented reality animation. The aim of this project is to raise awareness of human impact and plastics upon our oceans.

All materials used in the project consist of up-cycled mediums and focus on environmentally conscious practices.

‘Plastic Vortex’, 2023

My major final project has won first place in the Peter Cannings Award! 🎉 I will be talking about the project, process and outcome on the 14th Wednesday, 2pm June at the UAL Design showcase. Here are some W-I-P Teaser shots of the audio and motion reactive projection, editorial and AR publication produced for Plastic Vortex with @devils_in.the_details and @augurgraphics. The project explored marine debris and the impact of human negligence on oceans using NASA satellite data. Come by LCC on the 14th June to hear me talk more about the project.
