Well that’s a huge wrap on the 2025 Murray Cod New England adventures. Send us a message at haulflyfishing@gmail.com to register your interest for the next trips!
This is the purest and best Murray cod fishing on this planet. Sight fishing large fish in tiny clear water, searching the big water by small crafts. The true aussie experience. Nothing compares to this country side and the reliability of the fish in these spots. It’s action on action.

Thanks to the amazing participants and a special thanks to Josh for going above and beyond as always. You won’t find a more passionate and invested guide and there are only a handful of people with his experience on these fish on fly. @smithoptics.aus @manic_tackle_project

Very special moment for angler @infinitymorris to catch this 84cm cod in shallow water on fly. It was a wild ride indeed. It’s really the pinnacle of catching Murray Cod on fly, sight cast, shallow water and a close quarters intense battle to the net. Congrats mate well done, fish of a lifetime that one. @haul_fly_fishing Guide: @flylifementor #murraycodonfly #flyfishing #flyfishingadventures #flyfishingaustralia #flyfishingnsw #newenglandfishing #catchandrelease #guidedflyfishing

Trip 1 complete!

Chris and Max both new to cod on fly have filled buckets with great moments. Fisher fishing to cod is exciting stuff and when they’re on like this it’s all action, there’s too many fish to post then all. The boys did the tango with some serious lumps and pulled away with some impressive fish.

The guiding and hosting by Josh Mulders @flylifementor makes the hard work easier but it’s a premium challenge! Josh also adds a level of enthusiasm rivalled only by a kid at Christmas and it keeps the rhythm.

There’s no Aussie bush like the gorge country these trips run in. Almost an hours drive from the front gate of the private property, it’s tucked away and good to play.

On to trip 2; watch this space.

If you’re interested in what’s going on then get in touch any time @haul_fly_fishing and we can discuss options. This is a true aussie experience and a major bucket lister for any adventurous fly angler. You haven’t cod fished til you’ve tried this stuff. It’s what it’s all about.

Will on a stunning small water brownie. This was Wills first proper fly fishing trip and with excellent guidance from Haul guide Josh, the few good opportunities that are coming our way are paying off. We’ve been finding some excellent fish although working hard for them. Less numbers but good quality, tricky fish is the new norm for the time being.
