Where do I even begin. One whole year since I’ve moved to American Soil. One of the hardest things I’ve done, but it was so so worth it!
Would I do it again? Absolutely! 🫶🏼

I could truly not do it without the help of my family,Erin and friends🥺 Beyond grateful for the people I’ve met along the way, and the adventures God has put before me❤️

1 year down,many more to go🇺🇸x🇿🇦

“Hi everyone! 🇿🇦🇺🇸💚

My name is Kaylin, and I’m a South African au pair currently living in Minnesota! I have the privilege of looking after three amazing children, aged 11, 6, and 4. 🥰 Being an au pair has taught me so much about independence, personal growth, and stepping outside my comfort zone. I’m so grateful for this journey and all the beautiful memories I get to make along the way! ✨”

Sunday well spent - sand, sunshine, and making memories along the way.

These little Florida moments leave a lasting impression.

Niente male come primo assaggio d’America, vero?

Officially six months! I made it halfway through my first year as an au pair, which honestly feels crazy to say. September had a little bit of everything and was full of feelings. I had a surprise coffee date over FaceTime with my mom, took myself on a last-minute solo movie date to watch “The Odyssey”, finally had açaí for the first time since coming to the U.S., and had my first little car mishap trying to get into a garage — definitely a mini panic moment lol. My favorite part of the month was Chicago. I loved exploring the city by myself and felt so free and independent. I completely fell in love with it; it made me feel the same way New York did, like I was exactly where I wanted and should be. I walked the Magnificent Mile, went to Navy Pier and Millennium Park, saw the Bean and Chicago Theatre sign, visited the Harry Potter store, went to two hockey games and fell in love with hockey, did an architecture cruise, tried deep-dish pizza, found a Brazilian flag, and got absolutely rained out on my second day lol. I also had some really fun nights out with my friends in Cleveland, which now has its own Taylor Swift song, so obviously all of us Cleveland Swifties went a little crazy. I spent a lot of time thinking about home too. I miss my family and friends more than I can explain, and little things this month made me feel very connected to Brazil even from far away. I’m also so grateful for my host family for all their support and care and my new friends for always being by my side, I truly couldn’t be doing this without them. I still can’t believe it’s already been six months. This month had its ups and downs, but through all of it I’ve grown and learned so much. Somehow I’m already halfway through my first year, and I can’t wait to see what the next half brings. Happy six months 🩷✨
