Bringing watchmaking culture beyond established circles of enthusiasts is central to the FHH’s mission. In Bangkok, that mission found a setting open to the city and its visitors.

A look back at Siam Paragon Bangkok Watch Week, 22–27 September.

At the opening symposium, Aurélie Streit @aurelie.streit joined Thanaporn Tantiyanon and Wei Koh @wei_koh_revolution to discuss watchmaking, culture and community in Southeast Asia.

Two panels moderated by Clio Godrèche @clio_godreche_official explored complementary approaches to watchmaking.

“The Life of an Icon”, with Morgan Maillard of @vacheronconstantin and Nicholas Rudaz of @franckmuller_geneve, considered heritage, enduring design and its evolution.

Benoît Mintiens of @ressence_watches, Manuel Emch @emchtagram of @louiserardofficial, also a member of the FHH Cultural Council, and Federico Ziviani @federicoziviani of @geraldcharles_official discussed independent creativity.

At the FHH Academy Lounge, visitors could explore circular graining, discover a mechanical movement and take part in interactive activities. The opportunity to take the FHH Watch Advisor certification exam on site completed the programme.

Together, these activities shared different dimensions of watch culture: its history, people, ideas and craftsmanship.

India’s watch education landscape is about to get a major addition.

For the first time, the FHH Academy’s Watch Essentials course is coming to Mumbai, giving participants an accessible introduction to the fundamentals of horology, from mechanical movements and watch anatomy to materials, finishing techniques, industry players, history and watchmaking culture.

Hosted by The Hour Markers on September 24–25, the 1.5-day programme will be led by Gianfranco Ritschel, Master-Trainer and member of the FHH Cultural Council.

The Art of Transmission.

A very special moment during @geneva_watch_days , joining the FHH Tribune “The Art of Transmission: Why Human Expertise Remains Irreplaceable” as an FHH Academy alumnus.

It was also my first time speaking on a panel, a beautiful opportunity to share a little of my atypical path into the watchmaking world: entering it through art, drawing and curiosity, and gradually developing a deeper understanding of the timepieces I portray and the people, craftsmanship and savoir-faire behind them.

Having completed the first two stages of the @fhh.fondation.haute.horlogerie journey, including my Watch Specialist certification, I recently chose to experience the three-day Watch Expert training in person with Gianfranco Ritschel.

During the panel, I shared what those three immersive days brought me beyond the course content itself: spontaneous questions, conversations, exchanges with the trainer and other participants, and the possibility of exploring subjects much further than I would have expected.

To thank the FHH team, I also wanted to bring a small piece of my own universe on stage: a personal reinterpretation of my FHH Watch Specialist certificate, drawn in blue ink and gold leaf, with intertwined watchmaking doodles, a piece I was very happy to offer to Aurélie.

A warm thank you to Pascal Ravessoud and @aurelie.streit for inviting me to be part of this conversation, to Gianfranco Ritschel for those incredibly rich three days of training, and to @oliviertalon Talon, who accompanied me through the first stage a of this journey and helped nurture my curiosity for watchmaking from the beginning.

Still learning, still curious and with so much more to discover. 💙
