One year ago today became one of the best days of my life, when I received the news that I would be allowed to remain in Switzerland.

What came next was everything that building a life somewhere new actually looks like... opening a Swiss bank account, a home to furnish, obtaining an AVS number, health insurance to figure out, and a hundred small victories that only feel small in retrospect.

Over this first year, I got my Swiss driver’s license, bought a car, insured it, made a generous donation to the Swiss speed camera fund (lessons learned), started French lessons, spent countless hours in SolidWorks designing my watch, and, last but certainly not least, founded my watch company Aurévant Koenig @aurevantkoenig.

The first prototypes are beginning to take shape.

The first year was the foundation. Year two is going to be something else entirely.

More behind the scenes coming as it unfolds! 🖤
