October has always been one of my favorite months- cooler weather, beautiful colors, spooky season, and the start of the holiday lineup- and then 19 years ago- another reason to love October- Auria!! It’s hard to believe that one of the biggest pieces of my heart is turning 19 years old. Auria has never been one for drama or worrying about what others think- she has a strong personality and knows what she wants with a strong sense of self. She is a fiercely loyal friend, and a realist. She has grown up with 3 brothers who love her and look out for her. She never backs down from a challenge worth her time or her effort. She has a radiant smile and a heart of gold. Auria- I love you so much! You make me so proud in all you do. The transition from HS to college comes with so much learning- and you are killing it! You are going to keep getting better and better- in classes, in swim, in time management, in friendships … in everything! Never doubt what your heart and head are telling you- work hard, keep your head down, set goals, achieve them, then set some more. Live up your last year as a teen… You are loved, so much, by so many. HBD, tRuthy!

To Auria, on National Daughters Day:

This year I’m gonna be short and sweet
Having a daughter is super neat.
I know that on average the world’s half full of girls
Of all of the gems out there- you are a pearl.
You’re a beauty to look at, you’ve got your own shine-
Out of all the world’s daughters- I’m glad you are mine!
Always keep smiling and get the job done-
Even though you’re #3, in girls you’re #1!

Love you tRuthy!

Anna sent me some behind the scenes pics from Media Day yesterday! I can’t wait to see the finished product!
I’m so thankful for this sweet team and the friends she has made!

I did not expect my sophomore season to go like this but I’ll take it. 400m school record holder, 6th at state, 400m club record, 4x4 club record, 3x All American, National Champ in the 15-16 400m at JOs. Couldn’t have asked for a better season.

Summer is burning by, literally- and things are going to be getting really busy once again… but b4 these two take on a year in southern Indiana we headed a little farther south to Florida for the 4th. We spent lots of time at the beach- where they played a lot of mermaids- built human totems- worked on open water swimming, and a bit on their tans… We went to a lot of Targets hunting for the last of the SadieB shampoos and conditioners- We shopped at any Bealls we drove by- We rode coasters at Busch Gardens- We went to a few museums- We posed for pictures- some, you know- just for the ‘gram.

Grandma and Grandpa Lawrie were the best hosts and kept up with us on all the adventures. While Bogey made sure that all ear-licking wellness checks were performed with fidelity.

We did a lot in a short trip to celebrate the 4th, and America on 250 years! God Bless America, God Bless the USA, and God Bless these two next year at USI!
