Sardine Run 2026

This year has been absolutely mental and it’s crazy for me to think that I was in Cinsta over a month ago, it feels like an eternity but in the same breath, it feels like yesterday.

The Sardine Run, something that people dream of experiencing and I’ll be honest, it wasn’t on my “Top 10” things I must do. But when an EPIC invitation arrives, well, how could I say no? It has inspired me to get my scuba certification!

FINALLY I got to edit some photos and to RELIVE that EPIC week with @sardinerun_offshoreadventures . I won’t lie for me, this week was a bit stressful, to try something new in your own industry is really daunting, like I know how to use a camera, but now add a water housing, a ocean and unpredictable moving animals. When I left after that week, I really didn’t think I got something decent. Maybe that why I wasn’t excited to even look at the photos. But I made myself a delicious cup of coffee and dived in! No pun intended!

I am honestly incredibly PROUD of myself and I really don’t say these things to myself. For someone who doesn’t really swim in the ocean and the FIRST time I am using an underwater housing I actually got some BANGERS!

To Jaco from @sardinerun_offshoreadventures and the awesome crew, Red, Rory and Joshuuuuuuua, THANK YOU all for being patient with me, pulling me up countless times from the ocean to the boat, I can’t wait for the ladder next year, for encouraging me to pee in the ocean (it was a thing, I just couldn’t go!), for ALL the laughs, for getting our fins and googles ready, packing the boat, unpacking the boat, for all the food prep and the braai’s, Jaco for safely getting us in and out of the ocean, those launches are something else! @tezferguson , for hauling ass after my ass, for getting my camera out and safely back in, we just need to work on the speed of the deliver! LOL! For all the EPIC experiences we got to share, it is honestly a core memory that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life!

And I can’t wait to do it again in 2027!
