Thank you to lovely Nicola @booklover_nix for tagging me in the #YellowTitleStack 💛💙 I’ve only read one book here - Carrie’s War. I read it initially in school, age eleven, and again a few years ago. I wasn’t overwhelmed by it in school, but I absolutely loved it on the re-read (I actually have three different editions now😍) I don’t know if I’ll get around to any of the others soon, but I hope so👍 ⁣

#flatlayfriday featuring books I want to read asap! Inspired by @readingwith_em . Honestly there are so many I want to a read but here are some of them!

I think I may take the Beartown series home with me when I go to the States in March! Also, Why do they make books from the same series different sizes??🙄

Some of these are leftover from my February TBR/Hopefuls and others will be hopefuls for March.

Neglected Faithfuls

How has Booksta influenced your reading choices?

If you’re anything like me, there are positives and negatives. I can’t deny that I’m reading — and enjoying — a much wider variety of authors and genres. I’ve been pushed out of my comfort zone and discovered it’s sometimes quite a pleasant place to be. I’ve been introduced to a host of new-to-me authors and experienced the delight of debuts — the latter something I’d never have done before. And I’ve become intimately acquainted with FOMO.

The upshot of all this, though, is that I have sidelined all those authors that used to be my bread and butter. I’ve kept buying their books but have left them gathering dust on my shelves.

If you regularly follow my feed, you’ll know that I’m calling them #neglectedfaithfuls

Last year, I made a conscious effort to reconnect with some of them and quickly realized I’d missed out on some cracking reads.

This year, I’m on a mission to revisit a neglected author every month.

A trawl through my kindle yesterday revealed almost 30 of them (see picture). I know, disgraceful, right?

So far, 45 people have joined me in this year-long challenge. Many of us have authors in common. All of us are determined to reach our goal. And once again Booksta has proved what a supportive, friendly community it is.

I’ve already ticked off my January read with Wild by Kristin Hannah, which I absolutely loved. And I have a Janet Evanovich lined up for February. I’m excited to see where the rest of the year will take me.
