A quick look into my last four years in Lynchburg. What I have here doesn't do justice for the amazing people and great times I had while going to Liberty, and there's a lot that's been left out, including all the times my awesome family has come to see me. I'm beyond grateful for all the memories I made and I'm looking forward to making many more.

Theodore Wolf Cauthren was born December 11th making us a family of 3 and we are so thankful.

Austin chose his name. Theodore meaning gift from God and Wolf after my 3rd great grandfather, who was a chaplain and hard-working, faithful man.

We pray that Theodore would grow in the Fruit of the Spirit and that he would love the Lord God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love his neighbor as himself.

Thank you for all your prayers as we enter parenthood - we desperately want to do it well.

Neither of us post much so I'm just checking in :) Austin and I are doing great. We're deeply in love, healthy, employed, and growing closer to the Lord. Year after year we grow more thankful for this life we've been gifted 💕

2 years!!!!

One of the joys of our wedding was getting to collaborate with Austin and my dad on our ceremony script. Here's one of my favorite parts:

"To demonstrate their unity and commitment to caring for each other and their marriage, Austin and Bailey have chosen the metaphor of planting a tree seed together.

Other than God and people, the Bible mentions trees more than any other living thing. There is a tree on the first page of Genesis, in the first psalm, on the first page of the New Testament, and on the last page of Revelation. Every significant event in the Bible is marked by a tree. Whether it is the Fall of humanity, the flood, the death and resurrection of Jesus, the New Heaven and New Earth, every major event in the Bible has a tree, branch, fruit, seed, or some part of a tree marking the spot.

Both plants and humans thrive when under the care of a Master Gardener who knows their individual needs at the deepest level. It’s no mistake, according to the Bible, that the first person to see Jesus after His resurrection mistook Him for a gardener. Austin and Bailey are promising to come alongside God in that holy task, caring for each other and helping each other grow, creating the right environment to encourage the other to bear fruit of the Holy Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and self-control.

Father God, we praise you for your holiness and that you made a way for us to be in relationship with you. Help us to surrender to you daily, and strengthen our faith. We pray that Austin and Bailey’s marriage would be like a strong tree, whose roots grow deep in your truth to withstand the storms of life. In your Son's name we pray. Amen

No longer two but one, one in interest, destiny, in love, and in life. Let no man separate what God has put together. It is my pleasure to introduce for the first time in front of all their friends and family, Austin and Bailey Cauthren. Austin, you may kiss your bride."

Nothing quite like Chris Stapleton, Allen Stone, and fried chicken on a Friday night!! (Margo Price was good too I just don't know her music 💃)

I have a rule that I don't buy food from large stadium/venues. Too expensive, poor quality, sogginess, general sadness, not good. BUT! Austin saw the line was short so he hopped in to buy chicken tenders because he loves me! 🥰 We ate them slowly in the 90° heat and enjoyed the vibes. I was happily surprised! I mean, it wasn't great - don't get me wrong. But it was above average for venue food!

Austin rated it a 4/10 and I rated it a 5.5/10 (I liked the spices more than Austin). Averages to a solid 4.75/10. Eat if you have to, but it wouldn't hurt to just wait and get something better after the show 😂 A fine snack to split with a friend when you're v hungry!

RA Bistro

I couldn't begin to count the amount of times I've driven past this downtown LYH establishment in the 10+ years my life has been tied to this place. On Monday, I finally went!

I saw chicken tenders in the "starters" section and decided to give them a try. First of all, the portion was HUGE definitely not an appetizer 😂 So plan accordingly. I was a bit nervous because the tenders were thin (v worried about dryness), but the chicken was pretty good! It was just a standard chicken tender. A solid 6/10. The fries were excellent and they made their own honey mustard which was so flipping good. Extra 1.5 points for both of those. Final score: 7.5/10!!

We usually have our weekly date nights on Monday and I love it 🥰 If you're married - I highly recommend The Marriage Journal! And weekly date nights! And chicken tenders! And if you're not married, find someone like Austin!

East Coast Wings + Grill

For a place that is centered around chicken...you think they would know what they're doing. But THINK AGAIN. These tenders were a disappointment. 3/10. The moisture was sucked into oblivion...or maybe it has something to do with the wildfires? Either way, a sad showing.

The fries were spot on though! Excellent sauce options so I'm adding a full point back for those.
Final score 4/10. I recommend ordering wings or just a bunch of appetizers maybe?

I'm sorry guys, I wish I had better news for you. It's hard out here for a tender lover. Times are tough and so is the chicken apparently. I'll try and have better news next time ✌️

Well this was the closest thing they had to chicken tenders in the middle of the ocean. Fried fish bites on the kiddie table!

Surprise: They were honestly really good 👀 Those children are eating good if that's what's served up every day! The batter base wasn't flour, I'm not sure what was used but it had great flavor and seasonings! The fish inside was white but, again, not sure what it was...I can say for sure it wasn't catfish or salmon. But that's also the end of my recognizable-fish-list. Look, I'm not a fish expert, people. Lower your expectations!

Overall the lil fish bites were excellent. They weren't greasy or overcooked and the fish was still flaky and soft. I'm impressed! There was very little fried food offered during our stay so someone in the kitchen had to know what they were doing! No dipping sauces (not even tartar sauce or ketchup) offered but honestly, who cares, you didn't need it. 9/10!

More pics from our delayed-honeymoon/first year anniversary/job promotion celebration trips. Austin is an incredible man and I can't wrap my mind around his unconditional love for me. Also, he pitched a new life plan: buy a yacht and sail around the world. So stay tuned for that, I guess!
