2025 | in no particular order:
•finished both my seminary degrees 🥳🎓
•spent a lot of time at @loyalcoffee (over 530 hours, yes I kept track) ☕️
•celebrated 10 years of being on staff at New Life🎉
•spent a lot of time in the prayer room with my people @newlifenorth @newlifefriday 🤍
•got braces 😬
•saw Alaska for the first time 🏔️🦅
•walked over 50 miles through the high plains desert🏜️
•created some really beautiful memories with people that mean so much to me
•read 172 books 📚
•learned a lot about how two differing things can be true at the same time. One doesn’t cancel the other out. Faith is found and strengthened in that middle ground, in the tension. So don’t run from it…

Here is my 2025 wrapped & honestly it isn’t photography related, it was the year that I found out who Layni was outside of photography!! I traveled absolutely and visited new countries & had new experiences but the best part about 2025 was meeting new people, making more friends, growing in a deep community, making new memories, learning to love my people better (which I’m still learning hahaha) This year I solo traveled, my brother got married & I got a sister,I got an apartment with my best friend, found my style a little better, I got caught up in my editing for the first time in 5 years, started to learn film photography, hosted an incredible camp with @peytonhayez , I actually got out of bed & fought depression better than I have. This year I was PROUD of myself!!!! Anyway, I’m so excited for 2026, it’s gonna be my hobby year & a year of doing the things I love!!! (It won’t let me tag more than 20 people :(

The last year has been the hardest/best year of my life. I’ve never worked harder, been more afraid, cried this much, let my friends hold me, fought for something, found peace, or felt as much pride as much as I have in the last 12 months. I feel like a kid again, experiencing pain and abundant joy for the first time.

My memory is real bad, so I’ve been collecting photos, videos, voice memos, Polaroids etc. I wanted something to look back on that would help me remember who/ where/what I was for the last year.

It’s entirely self indulgent, and not for you;) but I still hope you enjoy a peek. While I’ve got your attention, here’s so more of me:

- I started my own consulting company after getting laid off unexpectedly and being scared for my survival. I’m exploding with pride to say i can actually live off what I make.

- I get to design clothing (my dream job of 10+ years) for brands I actually like. It’s a weird sensation to actually LIKE your clients (| love you Zaki, Elias, Mike, Lily, Oliver, Dylan, Morgaan + more). I go to bed every night feeling satisfied in my work.

-I felt a strong lead to move to Denver, and even after letting go of my life is Colorado Springs, and especially when plans fell apart for it, I had overwhelming support, and I could cry thinking about how much I love my place and how much peace I’ve found in it.

- I’ve been surrounded by genuine relationship throughout the year. I wouldn’t be living, let alone living well without the people who have shown me immense grace. You all know who you are :) can’t believe y’all don’t hate me yet

- my family has experienced their own hardships this year, but it’s been healing to walk together through it all. I’ve never cried in front of my whole family, but this year we all cried together.

- I’ve been able to travel, developed real relationships, loved and been loved, been inspired and challenged, and overall I have grown immensely. I’ve experienced living as my real self this year (mostly)

P.s. Slaughter Beach, Dog is still the best band, The Office is overrated, skinny jeans are coming back, life is worth living, and you should tell your friends you love them.

This is the happiest I’ve been 😭

Nostalgia. It sneaks up on you.

One moment, you’re fully there, fully present. The next, it’s gone.

And suddenly you’re yearning to be back in it.
Your heart feels heavier, wishing to relive something you know you can’t, because it’ll never be the same.

Until you look at the photos.
And just like that, you’re teleported into a replay of what it felt like. The laughter that came right after the shutter clicked, the way their dog walked with a little limp, the quiet calm of sitting next to someone you love.

These are the moments I would’ve forgotten, if I didn’t have my daily fun camera with me in the in between moments.

So get the camera. Bring it everywhere. Document everything. And then sometimes get someone to help document it for you 😉
