Summer ‘25

I strongly felt God led me to the Female Dormhead/HR Assistant position this summer. I was excited but also intimidated by the new skills and routines this job would require. I accepted the offer trusting that God had a reason. I trusted that God knew what He was doing, even if I didn’t.

As part of my role, I got to come up with a theme for the female dorm. Prayer led me to Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God”

It’s funny how when God gives you a word for someone else, He’s often speaking to you as well. That verse became just as much of a theme for me as the other girls. Through the business, hard moments, and times I felt under qualified, God kept pointing me back to Psalm 46:10. Over and over again He reminded me what it means to be still, to remember who He is and who He says I am. I may not be the fastest typer or the most knowledgeable with online programs, but God’s uniquely blessed me with the gifts and talents needed for the plans He has for me.

Comparison is a tactic the enemy uses to make you feel like what you have and who you are isn’t enough. It’s a lie to steal your joy and distract you from what God has in front of you. The truth is, as the body of Christ, we are one body with many parts. A knee can’t be a hand and a hand can’t be a knee. They’re designed and intended for different roles. Different AND important. They are both uniquely valuable to the body.

What a gift and relief that I don’t have to try to fit anyone else’s role but my own. I am who God made me to be, and that’s enough
