Bits of life lately :)

Been up to so many things these past few months. Moving out of my old house, into a new one, traveling, spending time with my loved ones, making time to think about and pray for my loved ones. Life is hectic and often can be hard, but people… love— that makes it all worth it. Here’s to many new chapters of life.

September is National Suicide Awareness Month, a month to raise awareness and remember those we have lost or almost lost to suicide.

This September marks one year of what I first thought was the end of one battle, but now I know it was the beginning of a year long fight against some of the hardest and scariest things I have ever had to face.

Within this past year, I have relapsed. I have ended up in hospitals and inpatient units. I have self sabotaged some of the most important relationships in my life. I have sat through countless hours of IOP and therapy. I have questioned if continuing on was worth it more times than I can count.

And I have also survived every single moment up until now. I have survived episodes I never thought I would make it through. I am still here.

After fighting a completely new kind of battle with my own brain, I eventually received the diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder. Although the battle against BPD has come with unbearable losses because of my own behavior, it has allowed me to take accountability for my actions, even those taken while experiencing an episode.

Most importantly, I have stuck to the promise I made myself which was to fight to return to my healthiest and happiest self. And even though I might not be there yet, I am still working my ass off. Because in the end, everybody deserves to want to live including myself. Once I get myself out of this hell, I promise to make it my purpose to help others out of their own hell.

This is not a romanticized recovery story. It is messy. It is exhausting. It is extremely painful. And it is real. But surviving, and more importantly living, is worth talking about.

Because if you are reading this and you feel like you cannot take another day, I promise you can. You are never too much. You are enough. You are not a burden. You are meant to be here in this universe.

Stay another day❤️‍🩹
