POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Something we love to do and do well are interviews. These interviews were all shot in location of the Westwood Holdings office, and as many know…offices can be challenging when it comes to finding an interesting angle for an interview. So we played into the natural lines of the architecture as much as possible and are really happy with the result.

Happy #trapdoorthursday with this little 1886 experimental carbine. Some 1,000 trials models were produced, they were intended to replace the standard 22” barrels carbine. The new experimental carbine, with its 24” barrel was designed to address some of the inadequacies of the standard 1873 Calvary carbine. The army of the 1880s was becoming more aware that accuracy and proficient riflemen skill was an important aspect of soldiering. The old napoleonic tactics had given way to the idea of small unit effectiveness and the modern era of soldiering had begun. It was in this that the idea of a more accurate, effective cavalry carbine was born. The rifle had a compartment for a cleaning kit and sling swivels, it was longer stocked, equipped with a Buffington rear site and a front site protector. More on this one in future posts. #trapdoorspringfield

Had the privilege of shooting this piece for @fostervillageaustin . These kids were incredible. Their stories were both heartbreaking and inspiring. My intention for this piece was to have the lighting feel as natural as possible. I wanted the light to be hard and broken. I also pushed the camera to hold both extremes on its dynamic range abilities.

golden poppy - a mother and daughter dodge creditors and a sugar daddy down the golden coast into a feverish night of karaoke and unraveling. for a broke mother 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, the open road does not represent freedom, but a tunnel leading to further confinement.

@stefanvleming shot the film dogme style, all handheld and practical lighting (except the karaoke scene which has a sprinkle of movie magic).

@rawhoneystudios and i have been “playing in the sandbox” together since 6th grade drama class. needless to say, she touched every part of this film creatively and technically… improvising lines with me until they landed, “manifesting” money for cvs manicures and crafties, and then passing hard drives back and forth etc

we’re in the process of submitting to festivals and wanted to shoutout the village for making this possible
