Feeling incredibly grateful for my family and friends who made our baby shower so special.❣️An extra special thank you to @cheetahbooty + @moderncarmella for putting together such a beautiful day, and @daniwiec for taking all of these Polaroids so I’ll always remember just how great it was ✨

For years, I convinced myself that my story wasn’t worth telling. I internalized so much. I made pieces of myself invisible just to fit in — thinking it would be easier to belong that way. I was wrong.

A truly integrated society can’t be built on silence. It requires every single journey, every voice, every truth. And that is what finally moved me to speak.

This is my story — an excerpt of my work-in-progress documentary. And I’m ready to start sharing it.

In 2018, in my first year in LA, I spent Christmas Eve alone. I always felt safe in my own company, so that felt okay to me.

7 years later, here and now, I have a second family that welcomes me exactly how I have been wishing.

In my early childhood, I learned what being loved felt like, and I have desired to find someone who could share that with me. Then, like magic, life sent me @austinsaya , and the Saya-Gardens were the greatest surprise.

I guess sometimes we need to hold together in hard times while keeping wishing good things are about to come.

I hope every human can have the chance to feel loved and be loved. I recognise the essence of Xmas in inspiring us there.
