“I wanted to be the knight to save her, but I became the villain who killed her in the end.”

⭐️ My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️ Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️/5
🧾 My Review: This book didn’t just get under my skin. It moved in, changed the locks, and started rearranging the furniture! If you loved Hello, Listener for that slow burn descent into darkness, Chasing Shadows takes that same unsettling energy and turns the volume all the way up! Alan is the kind of character you know you absolutely should not be fascinated by…and yet, here we are. 🤷🏻‍♀️ His descent into madness is seductive, disturbing, and impossible to look away from. And the writing? Gorgeous and grotesque. It’s atmospheric, voyeuristic, addictive, and somehow manages to be tender in the middle of all the destruction. Lee is the exhausted, steady presence trying to hold onto the last bit of light while Alan convinces himself there’s nothing left to save. Their dynamic made everything feel painfully personal, and the tension kept me turning pages like I had something to prove. There were moments where my stomach dropped, my throat went dry, and then, somehow, I wanted to applaud like an absolute psychopath. 👏🏼

Dark. Twisted. Unsettling. Completely Addictive. 🖤

🔪 Chasing Shadows is an erotic horror novel. Please remember to check the trigger warnings before reading!?! 😈

I know I’m late! But better late than never! Sorry girly…🎧🖤

The story dives straight into the mind of its unhinged antagonist, continuing a dark narrative told primarily from the villain’s perspective! 🔪

#chasingshadows picks up after #hellolistener and takes you straight back into the thick of it. it’s just as dark and twisted and definitely comes with some heavy topics so please check those trigger warnings before going in. honestly lorien delivered and i have been so excited to read this. it was so good seeing where the story went after book one and within the first couple chapters my jaw dropped! i really enjoyed getting further into alan’s head and seeing everything he’s dealing with while also getting more of lee’s side as those missing pieces start to come back.

i’m not going to say too much because i really don’t want to spoil anything but this one kept me hooked right through to the end. if you like dark horror and serial killers then this is definitely a book to read. just make sure you read hello listener first.

🖤Chasing Shadows🖤 by Lorien Ray
😏Book 2 in the Psychotic Tendencies Duet😏
✨Available on Amazon & Kindle Unlimited✨

Serial killer Alan Jones knows how to stay hidden in plain sight in New York City. What he doesn’t know how to do is survive the emptiness left behind by the woman he loves: his listener, Thalia Smith; or how to silence the ghost of her that haunts his memories. If her apparition isn’t enough to drive him insane, his Shadow, the depraved alter ego, waits in the dark corners of his mind. Alan is fighting a violent war within himself, haunted by the memory of Lee, his best friend, whom he tried to send to an early grave. What Alan doesn’t know is that Lee survived.

Only Lee doesn’t remember the night Alan turned on him, or what happened to Thalia, but the missing pieces are coming back together. Now, Lee is out for revenge and coming for Alan. Alan faces a terrifying choice: Will he succumb to the darkness and let the shadows win? Or will he finally break free from the madness in his thoughts?

Chasing Shadows is an erotic horror novel. Please remember to check the trigger warnings before reading; some of which include:
-Stalking
-Murder
-Body Horror
-Suicide
-Strong sexual situations
- Self-harm
... And many others. #psychoticthriller #horrorbooks
