POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I love when I pick up a book from an author I have never read before and get instantly hooked!

I attended @romanceehevents and had the absolute pleasure to meet @author_arlines a new to me indie author! I asked her to tell me a brief synopsis of her books and walked away with Kiss of Contagion.

Well I decided to crack the book late last night and couldn't put it down. I have not read an omegaverse book quite like it. Without giving away spoilers it was a treat to have multi pov of the characters, be inside their heads and get the full glimpse of their struggles as they navigate their new normal.

If you're a fan of omegaverse, dystopian worlds, primal driven minds with a twist, found family, spice, healing, and why choose, it's all there in a well written story that does end on a cliffy! But, hear me out, book two comes out next week! I've already marked my calendar and book three should be out by the new year.

QOTD: What's your favorite thing about an omegaverse story?

Spellchecks used to be helpful but what in the robotopia is this?! 😂 Thanks @author_arlines for making my day.

Last weekend we attended the @romanceehevents Mixer on Friday and Book Signing/Meet Cute Market on Saturday. We had the opportunity to meet so many amazing Canadian authors, talk books and we even brought some signed books back that have not been available in store before, but now are.

Forbidden Chapters was also one of the sponsors for this year's event.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend and the authors of some of the books we carry.

Back home and somewhat rested after an AMAZING weekend at @romanceehevents 🥹

Going in, I truly didn’t know what to expect from this signing. I’ve been putting my name in the hat for every Canadian signing I can find (especially ones in BC/AB) and getting an invite to this one in August was so exciting. I texted my best friend/assistant to get her thoughts on whether I should accept, and she immediately was like ‘I’ll book the time off work, we’ll road trip out, we’ll steal my mom’s Jeep for it.’

So we went. Two days to drive in, and one loonnnnggg Sunday driving back.

And everything I was worried about turned out to not be a worry at all. The organizers of this event were so wonderful, the attendees were so excited about my books, and my table neighbours were amazingly friendly.

I sold out of my Pack of Lies hardbacks with the fancy edges and interior art (right at the end of the day!) I sold out of Hunting Her paperbacks at the very beginning of the second signing session (I only brought 5 because it’s not that popular online… but I maybe forgot it was Halloween-themed and kind of timely lol)

It was busy all day and I never had more than a few minutes of down time before someone was popping by to get me to sign something!

I’m so grateful for all the readers who came to say hi, even if they’d never heard of me before.

And I’m especially grateful for the authors who chatted with me 💗 this was my first signing without Marie—and she’s usually the one who talks to our fellow authors. I’m not great at doing it by myself. @cherylterrabooks got me started at the Meet & Greet, asking if I knew anyone and introducing me to the next table over when I admitted that I didn’t. From there I was able to get up the confidence to talk to a few other authors who were all so helpful and friendly that my brain (mostly) realized there was nothing to freak out about. That it was a welcoming community all around.

I’m just really really grateful, and you can swipe through to see more signing and road trip pics, plus my little bookish haul that I brought home with me 💗

(No project updates this week because let’s be real, I didn’t write anything 😂)

@author_arlines has a series of romantasy books that give spicy fairytale vibes. Don't know about you, but that def caught my eye
@itsm.ohara is a wonderful human, so you should definitely go support and read their upcoming book
@writingerin Thistleblood went straight to my TBR... do what you need with that info
@rjacksonjoseph I mean, if you haven't heard about this book yet, what even are you doing?!
@kimberly_lynn_books do I want to read about Arthurian legends or a horror romantasy? Mh... Both? Yes, both is good 👀
@rachaelreeseauthor mystery + vampires, everything a girlie wants (me, I'm girlie)
@daphne.vermeer and it's even better when the vampires are... Dutch?!
@the_scholarly_pervert I came for the cover, I stayed for the blurb. Take my money.
@jessi_st_john_author I think fall is the perfect time to read an historical murder mystery, don't you agree?
@davin.roberts.35 oh look, another horror collection for you dear horror readers 👀

For the most part, I stick to indie books, in part because I write reviews for @reedsy.discovery (find a 🔗 to my reviews in my L1nkTree) but also because of a group of fantastic authors I've joined.

I’ve been keeping a little secret… and today I finally get to share it with you.

✨ Welcome to Beyond the HEA.

For years, I’ve loved talking about books just as much as I’ve loved writing them. Somewhere along the way, I convinced myself that once I became an author, recommending books had to take a back seat.

Turns out… I missed it.

So I decided to create the space I’d always wished existed.

Beyond the HEA is my new corner of the internet for romance readers. Every week you’ll find:
📚 New indie romance releases
💌 My weekly letter
❤️ Book recommendations
🎙️ Author spotlights
☕ Conversations about reading, writing, and everything in between

This isn’t replacing my books. If anything, it’s an extension of everything I already love about this community.

If you’ve ever trusted one of my recommendations, if you love discovering new indie authors, or if you’re simply looking for your next five-star romance, I hope you’ll come hang out with me.

The first articles are live now, and I genuinely can’t wait to hear what you think.

💖 Welcome to Beyond the HEA.

🙋🏻‍♀️ Tell me… what’s one romance book everyone should read at least once?
