America turns 250 this year, and last night we had the honor of attending the Boston Harbor City Cruises kickoff celebration — commemorating America’s 250th anniversary, the return of the Tall Ships to Boston, and 100 years of Boston Harbor City Cruises.

From July 11–17, the Tall Ships will officially sail into Boston Harbor, bringing an incredible celebration of history, culture, tourism, and maritime tradition to the city where so much of America’s story began.

There is an undeniable energy surrounding Boston this summer, and for the Summer 2026 issue of InBoston Magazine, we are working to capture as much of it as possible — from the waterfront and historic landmarks to the organizations helping bring these monumental events to life.

If you’re planning to experience Boston this season, definitely book a harbor cruise aboard one of Boston Harbor City Cruises’ many vessels and experience the city from the water during this historic summer celebration.
