Currently finishing the arc read of pride and pleadings. @author_maylove she released the book a week ago, but with me being sick I couldn’t read much. Now I am better and ready to finish it! The story is really compelling and not at all sweet🥵 ifykyk. Very curious about how it ends. Will post a review when I have finished it.

Just finish one ARC, now onto the next one. Got this beauty in the mail this week. It is part two of a series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. And that is already a bonus point. Check out @author_maylove for more details about this book. I am going to be busy reading it.

📚Hearts and codes by @author_maylove
✨my rating 5/5
🥀my thoughts on this book
This book had me locked in from page ONE. No “just one more chapter” lies, I inhaled this book. I laughed. I cried. I emotionally spiraled. 10/10 experience.
This is a billionaire x office romance with actual substance (yes, romance books can do that). Claire Marie has been through enough in love, so when a scholarship opportunity shows up, she grabs it and chooses herself like the queen she is👸🏻And as a STEM girly currently fighting for her life trying to land an internship, Claire’s journey felt way too personal. The ambition? The self-doubt? The “I deserve more but also am I delusional?” thoughts? Yeah. I felt SEEN.
I love claire's personality , the guarded personality, hating love , but craving to be loved , to belong somewhere , feeling like a foreigner in my own skin.
Now let’s talk about Ren Bailey because HELLO??? Obsessed billionaire, patient king, emotionally available, doesn’t push boundaries, waits for her to heal, supports her dreams… like excuse me sir??? Where is MY Ren and why am I suffering without one?? The standards? Raised. The bar? In space.
funfact : He is a moaner so +1 for that

The story switches between past and present, slowly feeding us the lore like crumbs until everything clicks and suddenly you’re just sitting there like
👁️👄👁️ because the plot twists were twisting. The slow burn is SLOW slow — but in a “worth the wait, scream into pillow” way, not a boring way.
What really ate was the message. This book is for the girls who were taught to play it safe, stay small, and choose comfort over ambition — and then decided, actually, no ❤️. It’s about healing, growth, and choosing a future bigger than your trauma. Also the friendship between claire and Angie is so cute and real ( i love Angie's personality like a little kid when i got to know it's inspired by .... Hehehhe 🤭🤭)
By the end, I was emotionally attached, slightly unwell, proud of Claire, and deeply convinced this book ruined my expectations for men forever.

Also when is next book coming @author_maylove ..

This book has a good story line. Claire Ava Marie E done whit men after her heartbreak, she wants too fokus on her career and he want her.
I think unfortunately it’s a «hard» read. A little confusing at times, and feel like it could have gone true one more round of editing. But the story is good! And I wish @🩷🩷MayLove Author📚🔮💫 all the best whit her book and the next one, she said that book two will clear up som of the confusion 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

This is one of my next reads, and I am really looking forwards too it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Book overview
She swore off love. He’s desperate to change her mind.

After a devastating heartbreak that nearly broke her, Claire Ava Marie swore she’d never fall in love again. She plans to graduate, become a software engineer, and never get distracted by any man ever again. After all, fairy tales are fake, heartbreak is real, and coding is safer than kissing some guy.

But she did not see Ren Bailey coming.

Brilliant, relentless, and more dangerous than she remembers, the billionaire with a hacker’s mind isn’t content with just haunting her memories—he’s coming for her future too. And though she resists him at every turn, Ren Bailey is patient and persistent in his pursuit.

What begins as a battle of wills turns quickly into something deeper, something Claire is terrified to trust. And when persuasion fails, Ren offers her a deal she can’t resist. One that will force her to decide what matters more: love, or the safety of the walls she’s built around her heart.

Neither of them is prepared for what happens when a guarded woman collides with a billionaire who’s never heard the word no.
