I ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED THIS BOOK! I may have been late getting to it, but once I started, I could barely put it down. And that ending? I was NOT okay. I need book two immediately!

I already loved Finn from the Obsidian Academy books, but getting inside his head and understanding his struggles on a deeper level made me love him even more. He’s such a layered, heartbreaking character, and my heart just wants to protect him.

And Lucianna! She frustrated me at times, but I was rooting for her the entire way. I thought her character development was brilliantly written, with her flaws and reactions making sense as we learned more about her past. Seeing how she and Finn unintentionally push on each other’s insecurities made their arranged marriage so compelling.

The banter and teasing were top-notch, and I loved watching these two figure out how to navigate their marriage while trying to save their kingdom. The crew was fantastic, too, and getting glimpses of Cas and Wren was such a treat!

A high-stakes, slow-burn romantasy with layered characters, fantastic banter, and an ending that left me desperate for the sequel. You can read this without reading Obsidian Academy first, but trust me, you’ll appreciate it so much more if you do!

Thank you @authorarconwell to the author for providing me with an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. Sorry my review is so late 🙈

✨ Obsidian Academy ✨

If you thought Ocean of Ink was crazy, Tides of Secrets is even more!! 😱🙊 I was on my toes the whole time!! Beautiful and timeless! 😍🤩🤭 This book is just amazing!!

The Romantasy vibes are everything. 💞 The suspense and mystery is just perfect!! A wonderful edition to the Obsidian Academy Duet! 🤩🤩🤩

WREN continues to discover more secrets of the society. She begins to be wary of Castien but also feels drawn to him. She can agree to an alliance, right?

CASTIEN wants Wren loyalty and heart. But when secrets separate them, he has to work hard to prove himself. Darkness looms over their happiness. Will they be able to secret a future or will the winds tear them apart?

Genuinely will not get over these books for quite a while. You must MUST read them!! 🫶🥰🤩

“Who wants a broken doll?” CASTIEN that’s who! 😭😭😭🫶

Thank you A.R Conwell for your magnificent writing!! 💗

I read Veil of Deceit first as an ARC reader and I could not put it down! Then I went and read Ocean of Ink and Tide of Secrets, which I would suggest reading first as they take place before. These books are SO good. If you love a good romantasy I would highly suggest checking these out. The Obsidian Academy duet is more of a murder mystery vibe set in an academic setting and Veil of Deceit is full of adventures at sea. They are closed door, but the romance is so sweet and full of yearning.

I am exactly 7 million years late to this trend, but it was so fun so I had to! I didn’t realize how tricky it would be to find anything with a “Y,” so I took some creative liberties with that one! I had SUCH a fun time finding books that fit into each category! Do you spot any favorites on this list??

✨ Obsidian Academy ✨

This book is an absolute MASTERPIECE. 🤩🤩 I can’t get over how beautiful and poetic it was!! 🥹😍😭 I am a big fan of Romantasy and Dark Academia and this book just captured it all beautifully. 💞

As I read Ocean of Ink, I felt like I teleported to Hogwarts and it was just magical! 🪄✨ A. R Conwell is a MUST read author!!

WREN has been train to conceal. That becomes significantly hard when word of her brother’s death turns her life upside down. 😭😔 She is determined to solve the mystery of his death. Even if that means attending the Academy. 🗡️📖

CASTIEN shares no emotion. But inside feels so deeply. 💗 Losing a member of the secret society rocked his world and the other members. He is determined to solve the mystery of Heron’s death. 🤨 Until Lady Kalyxi shows up, he thought he had everything under control. Maybe not so after all.

The yearning in this book is NEXT LEVEL!! 🔥🔥 And the story doesn’t end here! There is another book! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

It is so, so pretty!🤩 I absolutely adored this book and I’m so excited to continue reading Finn and Lu’s story in the next two books.😁🤗 Thank you Annah for letting me be on your ARC team and sending me a signed copy of Veil of Deceit!💗
