My all time favorites come together as a book which is Stormhold!

Before starting to read the book I have some expectations but this level? I did not expect that.
I thought that we read a simple revenge story but it did not happen like that. It was more than that. Author has thought every detail in the book. Her writing style was perfect fitting for me. And book’s elements…OMG. I am a big fan of Batman stories and love Beauty and Beast. Also while I was reading I felt Godfather vibes which is so good to me. All these elements have come together and made the book tasteful. At least for me. 🖤

Bellerose Esteal had lost her family thirteen years ago and everything changed for her. After her parent’s death, she became an assassin. One night mission in Twin City, she got an information. Maybe this is her chance for her family, for revenge and her path cross to heir of Twin City who name is Arkane Stormhold or Beast.

Arkane Stormhold has one goal that is protecting his family legacy and his city but a threat wants everything from him. His city, his family legacy and his head. Despite Arkane is a cold-blooded strategist, Belle’s existence effects everything.

I cannot say more because I do not want to give any spoiler. I loved the book and highly recommend it. I just wanted to read more spicy scene maybe but storyline and book’s vibes was so good and I loved chemistry between Ark and Belle.

Thank you to Ember Raine and The Author Agency for the ARC.

🖤 Book Review! 🥀

Book: Stormhold
Author: Ember Raine

I'll just start by saying I absolutely loved the whole vibe of this book. In the teasers and description for Stormhold you will see the tag of Batman x Catwoman. And that just so beautifully encompasses this story. From the very start I was sucked into a dark almost gothic city that very much gave me the picture of Gotham.

Arkane very much is our broody rich man trying to keep his city in order and then we have our vengeful assassin Bellerose who creates her own definition of justice. In Stormhold we get dual POV of these two and I love the depth we receive from each of them.

The plot was exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat alongside trying to solve the mystery of the story. I was desperately gathering all puzzle pieces attempting to see the picture before it was revealed to me.

As with most books I fall in love with, mind the triggers. This is a bit of a darker romance with some dark themes. Remember this is a story about revenge.

Thank you @authoremberraine and @theauthor.agency for the ARC 🖤

I absolutely LOVED this book! 🖤 I didn’t know what I expected from this book but it was everything that I didn’t know I needed. I was worried that I would’ve gotten bored at some point BUT I was entertained the whole time 🤩 The story had me locked in, the characters were perfect, the spice was such a SLOW BURN but in the best way, the action was packed, and the plot twists were twisting 🫶🏼 There was also some very emotional and heart breaking moments, like excuse me miss Ember Raine why did you have me crying at like 2am with that scene?! I was not prepared 😭 This book deff has you guessing what is really happening which is what I tried to do lol I did figure out the who but there was still so many other revelations that I did not see coming 🤯 Both Arkane and Belle I absolutely LOVED! Belle was such a strong FMC and badass & I loved reading how she became to be that esp for those she loved 😎 And Arkanve I love that he was this strong intimidating MC but also such a softie and gentleman to Belle and he’s so protective of those he loved 🫠 This book is deff more plot then spice with a growing romance which is so refreshing cuz you truly see how things develop between them 🥹 I would highly recommend this book for so many reasons, Ember did an amazing job of incorporating so many things in this story and I didn’t feel like there was too much of one thing over another 🥰

STORMHOLD is a standalone, dark romance set in a hierarchical Gotham-inspired city ruled by the Stormholds. This is a slow-burn, forced-proximity, Beauty and Beast meets Batman romance that follows an assassin, who, on the path of avenging her family, makes an unlikely alliance with the most powerful and ruthless heir to Twin City and ends up tangled in the storm’s eye with him.

She's an assassin on the hunt for justice
He's the heir on the hunt for revenge

The rules are simple in Twin City: follow the word of the Stormholds, and order will be maintained. But someone has disobeyed.
Arkane Stromhold, the sole heir, also known as the Beast of the Twins, is an unemotional strategist who will do anything to keep his family legacy safe. So when a sinister threat called the White Hand wants both his city and his head, Arkane devises a complicated trap to lure the enemy. Only to be blindsided by the beautiful assassin who breaks into his house, stirring an unrecognizable emotion in him.
At sixteen, Bellerose Esteal has had everything taken away from her. Now, stationed as a Lower resident of the Twins, she works as a librarian by day and a deadly assassin at night, never forgetting the blood promise she made all those years ago.
On one such hunt, she infiltrates the Beast’s mansion and finds the city’s threat has somehow connected to her family’s demise. With little choice, the Beauty proposes an unlikely alliance with the Beast. And the Beast, surprisingly, agrees. To bring down the enemy or keep her close—he’s not sure.
