This story had such a unique urban legend that I had never encountered before! The story was a bit suspenseful with some romance and character growth thrown in! I sometimes wish I could be in an authors mind to figure out how they come up with their ideas and this was definitely one of those times! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick read when you need something a bit different! #bookrec #bookreviewsofinstagram #bookreview #books #bookstagram #branchingout #joyjarrett

We had so much fun celebrating the book launch of Branching Out with my friend Joy Jarrett this afternoon! The launch had such a cute owl theme, the cookies were my favorite. 🦉 Joy read a small scene from the book - I’m hooked! Can’t wait to read more. @authorjoyjarrett

Literal chills. Joy Jarret never fails to creep me out in such a good way. It's the second book I read from her and loved it. 100% recommend. It has romance, time travel, a weird creature roaming around, like seriously, I didn’t want to turn my lights off.

Book Buddy Shoutout!!

You guys!!! This is going down as one of the highlights of my bookstagram life… I got to meet @goodbooks_greatlife in person this past weekend! We met on the gram back in September (ish) and we were messaging each other so much that we finally exchanged phone numbers and have been texting each other almost every day since! Sarah is the sweetest and her friendship has been such a blessing in my life. I love chatting books and life with her and when we met up on Sunday it felt like I was meeting with a friend whom I’ve known for years. We even unplanned matched 😂 I just wish we lived closer so we could meet up more 😊

These are the books we have read as buddy reads and I’m already looking forward to our next one!

This is definitely the best part of bookstagram, meeting new people and forming real relationships with them.

Loved seeing everyones #ghostedandcurrentlyreading pics and had to jump on the challenge before the month was over. Anyone else a procrastinator like me?? 🤣

It’s Indie Feature Friday! 😍

Today’s feature is Joy Jarrett’s scary good romance Old Cravings!

The Colorado Book Review says, “It takes a skilled writer to take two genres as dissimilar as horror and romance and tangle them up in such a way that an enjoyable hybrid is forged, something that feeds devotees of both styles but also creates fans of the new form. Joy Jarrett has accomplished that and more here, which is remarkable considering this is her first novel. The horror aspect of Old Cravings is center stage in the novel, taking the mythological and making it terrifying and gruesome. The suspense is well-paced and realistic enough to creep the bejesus out of you. And there is a bit of cleverness toward the end that is truly brilliant. However, the horror would be reduced to nothing but crimson stains in the snow if it weren’t for the heart of the story—the relationship between Piper and Dylan. The bickering, the awkward apologies, the heated desire feels authentic and makes you desperately want them to end up together. That is, if they don’t get eaten first.”

This book as well as all of the other #IndieFeatureFriday books I’ve shared can be purchased through the link in my bio.

You can follow Joy at @authorjoyjarrett, find her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/AuthorJoyJarrett and her website is JoyJarrettbooks.com.

Veterinarian Piper is pragmatic enough to know her marriage wasn't working, which is why she left Dylan a year ago and pretends it hasn't hurt like hell every day since. Then Dylan calls out of the blue and tells her to come right away for an animal emergency. Piper arrives on the ranch that used to be her home to find her horse savagely killed. She can't fathom what could have done it. One thing, however, is obvious. Piper still loves Dylan.
Dylan isn't over Piper, not by a long shot. After her horse was ripped apart by something he's pretty sure wasn't a bear, it feels so good to hold Piper in his arms again. If only they could find a way to undo the mess that drove them apart.
An epic blizzard hits, trapping Piper and Dylan on the ranch for what just might be their one chance at reuniting. But as things get a whole lot scarier, it's clear something evil has brought them together.
Hunted by the supernatural, they must fight for their lives, but can they also fight for their love?

I’m not eligible for this prize but I was a lucky ARC reader and I loved this unusual novel (you have to read to understand). It’s part, romance, mystery and horror 😝
