GENRE: Contemporary Romance
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We all have our go to authors where is they write it you'll read read it. That's @authormaryhenderson for me! When the opportunity to be on this ARC team arrived I jumped at the chance! So I went into this book blind, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! From the meet cute to the reunion, MJ and Elias had my heart💛 I first met MJ when I read Love by Design and I knew she was special. Watching her grow from the young girl to the fierce, powerful, faith filled woman was truly amazing! If you loved faith filled romance than this book is for you!!

P.S you should read her other books!! They all tie together and are AMAZING🫶

Synopsis:
MJ and Elias thought that after highschool they would still be together. They were young and in love, but things changed and the plans they had made together didn't line up with the dreams they each had. So they went their seperate ways.

Now it's 12 years later, he's a moviestar and eveyone knows his name. And she's just trying to help young girls find hope. So when they meet again, they aren't expecting sparks to immediately ignite or for someone to take a picture.

To save both their reputations, its decided that they must fake date. But is it really fake? With MJ trying to navigate her feelings and Elias trying to see how God fits in all of it, was the love they thought they'd left behind actually the future God had been preparing for them all along or was it only supposed to be a happy highschool memory?

ARC Review is up on Goodreads 🧡 4.5 ⭐️ MJ and Her Movie Star was such a fun fall read — the kind of cozy book you just want to dive into with a big fuzzy blanket and a PSL. @authormaryhenderson has such a wonderful talent that she graciously shares with us. I thoroughly enjoyed this one so much! It will now be a fall read every year to start the season. #fallreads #christianromcom #secondchanceromance #faithrestoration

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ahhh, this book! 😭❤️

MJ and Her Movie Star had me feeling ALL the emotions. From young love, to growing apart, to finding each other again 12 years later. I laughed, I cried, I was completely lost in this book and couldn't put it down.

Elias and MJ were always meant for each other, but they needed time apart. Seeing them find their way back to each other and accept God and faith into their relationship personally and together was beautiful.

And that ending… 😭💔 There was a moment when something happened to Elias personally that completely broke me. I was crying and that was the exact moment I knew this book had officially earned a spot on my Top Books of 2026 list.

Mary Henderson did it again! She knows how to create characters you become emotionally invested in and a love story that stays with you long after you finish the last page.
