AUTISTIC IDENTITY ART THERAPY GROUP PROGRAM
EOI NOW OPEN - Program begins mid-June – limited space available

The Autistic Identity Art Therapy Group is a 12-week online group art therapy program dedicated to celebrating and strengthening autistic people through art practice and process, mutual exploration and community connection. It applies the concepts and framework of Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Intentional Peer Support. Conducted within a trauma and neuro/diversity informed framework, the program intentionally celebrates queer, First Nations and disabled people as a social justice action.

We will explore psychoeducation materials, share strategies and management techniques and most importantly engage in creative expression and artmaking together to support us to embrace autism.

The first step is to complete the Expression of Interest form to ensure our space is a good fit for you. We will contact you via email after this is complete. #linkinbio

Expressions of interest are now open for the Autistic Identity Art Therapy Group Program. The program is held online weekly and hopes to explore and celebrate autistic identity, especially for those late or later-in-life diagnosed. It will focus on understanding and responding to sensory needs, boundaries, safety, special interests and un/masking. If you have been diagnosed with autism as an adult and are struggling with accessing euro-affirming support from a lived experience practitioner AND you love expressing yourself visually, take a look at the program. The ‘Autistic and Deadly’ initiative was created by @chilly_alma who has designed this range of shirts to empower Autistic kids and their parents.

It was created in honour of her son Nullen and all autistic kids to create awareness, acceptance and to remove stigma around autism 💛

Aunty Bridgette (pictured above) is Nullen’s grandmother, and also a great friend and collaborator with @cidfoundation.enviro 🐬

Throwback to a wonderful day guiding student weaving circles alongside the amazing Zartisha Davis ❤️🌿✨

The students from Glasshouse Christian College got to weave collaborative class baskets while hearing about Zartisha’s life as a local Kabi Kabi artist, her family history and local Dreaming stories. It was such a special day!

Thanks for the opportunity to come and weave alongside you Sis! Xx

So honoured to weave dillybags for the beautiful, deadly women of @yirunyalangi who recently hosted @sunshinecoastlightning on Kabi Kabi Country 🧡🌿⚡️

As the rain clouds came over I thought of these women, gathered together on sacred land, cleansed by sky water and blessed by the energy of ancient ancestors. What a special, sacred day to share. What a beautiful place to call home @greenstonepastoral 🌿✨️

I feel blessed every day to live on Kabi Kabi Country, and to raise my little ones with love and respect for this land. I feel thankful for the women who uplift, support and inspire me, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for these incredible yinarrs!
