Wow! It’s crazy to believe I have been on this earth for 22 years. 16-year-old me would have never believed that I had come this far. That I have made the connections that I have and achieved the things that I have. That 16-year-old girl spent the majority of her life fighting and trying to survive and, in the midst, missed out on a lot of things. Don’t get me wrong; as that 16-year-old turned 17, 18, 19, and so forth, she continued fighting all types of things. She spent the next 6 years trying to heal from past traumas and overcome new obstacles. And honestly, some of those wounds will always be a part of her, and more obstacles will be expected to cross her path as she moves forward. But the difference between that 16-year-old girl and the woman that comes to be within that additional 6 years is that she isn’t alone anymore. She ended up building a stronger relationship with God and was surrounded by people who love her, My Chosen Family. They are the positives that she would look for when she went through those times, and that’s what helped her grow and learn and not stay stagnant. The ones who didn’t end up abandoning her when she didn’t fit into a specific mold and who actually took the time to help her grow from those past traumas and, most importantly, loved her for her and gave her the environment in which she could flourish in. While reminiscing on the last 22 years of my life, I can truly say that I have grown a lot as a person mentally, physically, spiritually, and career-wise and skills-wise, and I plan to continue that growth as I turn 23, 24, 25, and so forth and become the best version of myself. Thank all of you for just being yourselves ❤️.

I would like to thank my sous chef Andrew for helping me man the kitchen and @ashes_marie999 & @jocelynshill for being my servers for my Mardi Gras Dinner! I would also like to share my appreciation to @oldwarsonkitchen, @jkaydatus, and everyone else who had help along the way. For my menu I created a fusion of New Orleans Cuisines with East and Southeast Asian Cuisines. For the hors d’oeuvres there was a charcuterie board and Muffuletta Deviled eggs. Course #1 of my plated dinner was: Cornbread pull apart rolls served with a whipped honey butter Course #2: Curry Chicken and Shrimp Étouffée Garnished with Furikake and radish sprouts Course #3: Korean pulled pork tostada with an old bay brown butter spread and topped with with pickled red onions, thai basil, and fried okra. Accompanied by an Asian Slaw tossed in a coconut chile lime dressing. And for course #4: (Dessert) A Sourdough Bread Pudding with a Vanilla sauce Garnished with chopped Coffee Peanuts. #dinner #foodies #foodstagram #culinary #party #dinning #delicious #foodlover #cusine #foods
