My name is Ava Borah I’m the miss Athena contestant from Alpha Xi Delta! I wanted to participate in miss athena because i wanted to make a difference. Phi Delta Theta’s philanthropy Live Like Lou foundation is dedicated to supporting families impacted by ALS and the research to find a cure. The foundation supports and provides hope to many lives impacted by ALS. My participation in Miss Athena, raising awareness and funds for ALS, will make a difference I’m excited about!

As we celebrate the Fourth of July, we’re also honored to recognize one of our incredible sisters.

Hear from our sister Layla, a newly commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force:

As a U.S. Air Force officer, I’m honored to answer the call of service and sacrifice. AXiD shaped me into the woman and military member I’m proud to be today. Through our value of service, I experienced firsthand what it means to give back to others. That furthered my motivation to dedicate my life and career to this nation’s military, allowing me to continue serving in an impactful way. Thank you all for being worth it, for supporting and encouraging me all the way, and for creating a space where young women can realize their potential. I’m beyond grateful to be living my dreams as an aerospace physiologist, and I hope to see all my sisters serve and accomplish great things too.

Our sisters are involved in everything from athletics, ROTC, student government, academic organizations, leadership positions, jobs, internships, and so much more. At Alpha Xi Delta we don’t ask you to choose between your passions and sisterhood we encourage both.

We celebrate each other’s accomplishments, support one another through busy schedules, and cheer each other on every step of the way. Being a sister means having a community that helps you thrive both inside and outside of the chapter.
