POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Really enjoyed getting to have Ava home for a little bit over fall break.

This morning started with a phone call from her, a little panicked because her Delta flight was delayed and her connecting flight had to be changed.

We got that figured out, I picked her up, and then on the way to the airport… the interstate was basically at a standstill.

So once again, we adjusted. Found another route and still got her to the airport on time.

And I couldn’t help but think… that’s life.

We can make all the plans we want, but sometimes things happen that are completely out of our control.

The flight gets delayed.
The road gets blocked.
The plan changes.

What we CAN control is our attitude and how we respond.

Adjust the route. Change the plan. Keep moving forward.

As a dad, I’d love to be able to fix every problem my girls will ever face. I can’t. But I can hopefully teach them that when life throws something unexpected at you, you don’t panic or let it ruin your day. You figure out the next move and keep going.

And selfishly, I’m just grateful I got a little extra time with Ava over fall break. As my girls get older, I realize more and more how valuable those little windows of time together really are.

Even when they include flight delays, traffic jams and a little chaos.

Love you, Ava. Safe travels back to Knoxville.

Happy National Daughters Day to the three girls who will always be the best part of my world. ❤️

Ava, Finley & Izzy — three completely different personalities, three incredible young women, and three reasons I’m grateful every single day to be a dad.

Watching you grow up is going way too fast, but being your dad will always be my greatest job and greatest blessing.

Love you girls more than you’ll ever know. ❤️
