This one’s all about that feeling that you get when you first start going to raves. The excitement in the week leading up to it, the conversations you have with your mates about it. Then the feeling you get when you first get in and the systems booming and the lights are flashing.

This tune was started back in April as an intro for my gem fest set. I wrote basically the entirety of the instrumental and then left the project alone. I put a story up asking for female vocalists in May and my sister went ballistic at me because she’s been keen to sing on a tune for ages. I came up with the idea of getting her to do vocals for the gem fest intro and then have her sing them live. I send her the instrumental, 20 minutes later, she genuinely sends me the most angelic, euphoric vocals I’ve ever heard. I was so unbelievably proud that she had the ability to do that and I was so unbelievably gassed with how good they were.
Fast forward a couple of months and I bring her out for the intro of my gem fest set. I wish I was more confident that day so I could’ve actually announced what was going on.

Something about this track just gets me fucking gassed. I think this was a turning point for me because it kind of showed me that the bridge between euphoric saw wave stuff and drum and bass is possible. Growing up I always fucking loved the tron legacy soundtrack by daft punk, and this next year I’m really going to push for this analog, arp lead, saw wave stuff that makes you feel like you’re being lifted off the floor by a tractor beam.

Very fucking proud of this one, hope you lot like it.
