While the end of the year means more time spent on long poses, we still practice our beginnings to stay fresh.

Core Sculpture Instructor @kainzzachary uses geometry to push aesthetic appeal even in the earliest stages of a sculpture. These design choices often lead to stronger gestures and more dynamic finished pieces.

Sculpting Ava in my class. She’s a beautiful soul and I love working with her, although it makes it even harder to capture her!

This pose has me thinking a lot, as I believe it’s about female anger and the use anger holds as an emotion.

Anger is there to protect us from what is harmful and push it away. Personally, I have a hard time connecting to that feeling.

Also ty to @samantha.vauter for her amazing filming, no fingers in the shot 🙏

4TH ANNUAL SCULPTORS’ RETREAT INVITATIONAL

It’s difficult to summarize something this rare, an event built as much on its ethos as its experience.

For three days, sculptors gathered to work side by side, to exchange ideas, to observe, moving between rooms, between poses, between conversations that carry on long after the work ends.

You could feel it everywhere, the energy, the focus, the generosity of everyone’s collective spirit.

An inspiring weekend at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts for their annual @sculptorsretreat… It was such a joy to spend time sculpting alongside fellow artists from around the world, sharing ideas, inspiration, and support. ❤️
