The End of an Era, the Beginning of a New

Today was bittersweet.

@avatargosz and I have spent hundreds of hours together in the studio, and although I rarely stop to take photos, this moment was too special not to capture. Today, she helped me demonstrate one last solo before leaving tomorrow for Wisconsin and beginning her next life and dance journey with @uwdanceteam

I am beyond proud of this girl. More than anything, I feel incredibly blessed to have been part of her life for so many years. It is crazy to think that Ava has experienced so many versions of me, from a young adult, to a mother, to the almost mid lifer I am now. We have truly grown up together in so many ways.

Dance is unlike any other sport. You can meet your coach when you are in the single digits of life and still have them beside you at 18 into adulthood. That has been Ava’s and my journey, and it is a bond I have been fortunate to share with so many of my former students. My dance babies will forever hold a piece of my heart.

The last few years have been especially hard as I have watched so many of you graduate and move into your next chapters. I am endlessly proud of the people you have become, but letting go never gets easier.

And sweet Clara, thank you for working so hard today and for sharing this meaningful moment with us. You and the next generation of @imprintdanceco dancers are a force. You remind me that while one beautiful era may be ending, another is already beginning.

From Ava to Clara, from one generation to the next, everything comes full circle. I am so excited for what lies ahead, yet so sad to let this chapter go.

Ava, go chase every dream. I will always be in your corner. Wisconsin is so lucky to have you. ❤️
