NO BLEACH BALAYAGE?! 👀 check out how different her hair looks in different lighting. Want brighter, more dimensional brunette hair without bleach? Keep reading—this technique could be exactly what you’ve been looking for. I used Aveda’s Extra Lifting Creme (ELC) followed by a quick gloss to neutralize and enhance the shine, creating a soft, dimensional brunette result that still feels natural. But here’s the catch… This service might not be for everyone! ✨ Virgin hair only — meaning hair that hasn’t been previously coloured. Previous bleach is okay. ✨ You have to embrace warmth! Think golden, honey, caramel and those beautiful sun-kissed tones. And remember, warmth is not brass. ✨ Your natural starting level matters. Not everyone will achieve the same amount of lift or brightness, but that’s what makes this service so customizable. The finer hair around the front and back hairline often lifts a little lighter with ELC, creating an effect that looks like the sun naturally brightened it. Save this for your next hair appointment and follow along for more Aveda colour education! 🤍 #avedatoner #avedaelc #avedamoncton #avedahaircolour #avedastylist

Aveda sees your stress as the primary cause of any physical or emotional imbalances you may be experiencing. Which is why they use their signature sensory rituals. For example, the Aroma sensory journey and neck, shoulder, or hand massages are designed to help your nerves system calm and restore balance. Tingshas are small Tibetan style cymbals that produce a clear, resonant sound when played, and are used at the beginning and end of your facial journey. This gentle sound not only helps you feel present, relaxed, and ready for treatment, but also is creating a peaceful beginning and end to your facial. Breathing and grounding rituals are used by Aveda to help calm the mind, relax the body, and create that deeper sense of well being. The slow intentional breaths help release the everyday tension. By grounding, you are focused on the present moment, rather than any external stress or distractions. Which is why it is used during the Aveda facial. #aveda #spaday #facial #holistic #student

A conversation about the future of our industry. 🤍 This is a conversation I’ve been wanting to have for a long time. Honestly, I’ve hesitated. Not because I don’t believe these questions deserve to be asked, but because I know how easily they can be misunderstood. After years behind the chair and 16 years as a salon owner, I’ve had the privilege of seeing our industry from both sides — as a hairstylist and as someone responsible for welcoming, training, and supporting the next generation. And I keep coming back to one question: Are we preparing the next generation for the industry they’re actually stepping into? Our industry is constantly evolving. Techniques change, client expectations shift, and social media influences what people see and want. Strong foundations will always matter, but so do confidence, consultation skills, adaptability, and real-world experience. I deeply respect the people who educate and support future hairstylists. This isn’t about pointing fingers or pretending I have all the answers. It’s about asking whether we can do more to bridge the gap between education and salon life. Doing our best today shouldn’t stop us from asking how we can do better tomorrow. I believe it’s time for an open, respectful conversation — one that brings salon owners, educators, schools, students, and experienced professionals together. This is the kind of conversation I want to create with raae lab. Is it time to rethink the curriculum? Are we teaching what future hairstylists truly need to thrive in today’s industry? Is there a better way to bridge the gap between the classroom and the salon? I don’t have all the answers. But I believe it’s time to ask the questions. What do you think? Is it time for change? I’d love to hear your perspective. Share your thoughts in the comments, and share this post to bring more voices into the conversation. 🤍 — raae lab #monctonhairstylist #hairindustry #canadahair #halifaxhair #hairstudent
