A big part of what we do with this party & concert series is programming multi-room lineups with a wide variety of music styles that work together, along with some occasional surprises. We want attendees to have options while participating at one of our events. What that means in practice is having multiple things happening at once, in different areas of the venue, so folks can choose which vibe they’re feeling at any given moment. We also pay special attention to scheduling the overall event so that when something finishes in one room, another “thing” is starting in another room. This is about creating and managing the “flow” of the night. Sometimes this can mean the act with the biggest following doesn’t play last, as they would in a traditional “headliner” scenario. Depending on the style and energy of their music, they may open the evening or play in the middle. The focus is on building the energy, vibe and overall momentum of the night rather than adhering to any sort of hierarchy. Something that worked better than planned recently was when we booked Avenue 68 to host and DJ at an “after-party” in the side room at The Sugar Club, after they performed live on the main stage. They fulfilled this request by DJ’ing and playing really nice, understated, groovy house music, and a variety of other genres. What we didn’t expect, or ask them to do, was to jam along with their instruments. Truth be told, this type of carry on can get a bit messy, but what unfolded here was far from that. It was amazing. It felt like a gaff-party. The overall event was sold out so there was a large crowd still in the venue, but they were mostly outside in the smoking area getting down to Pablo and Platinum Ray’s tunes, who both played killer, high energy sets. But anyone who caught the Avenue 68 lads, complete with keys, guitar & perc, was treated to something quite special. This clip was their last song at 3am. Don’t miss this year’s Halloween Spooktacular on Oct 30 at The Sugar Club. Tickets: https://spooktacular2026.eventbrite.ie 👻👻👻
