Cherishing our annual Erickson family reunion at the lake, where everyone gathers from different states, and no one is ever missing. This year was extra special as it was my first time capturing these memories. Bonus points if you can spot me in the photos! Grateful for these moments!

Another year in the books and another year I am truly grateful to be able to have the opportunity to touch people’s lives with my work. This upcoming June will be my 9th work anniversary. The day I tossed myself into the deep end and began pursuing filmmaking as a full-time profession. The almost decade of working as a filmmaker been formative, sometimes challenging, but mostly rewarding. I have been able to work with so many wonderful and inspiring people along the way, and it never gets old when someone approaches me at a wedding or flags me down in public and tells me how something I have produced moved them to tears.

It’s moments like that, that keep me working hard to constantly improve as a storyteller, but also push me even harder as I work toward my ultimate goal of finally bringing the exciting film and tv projects I have written.

It’s is because all of the people who trust me to produce for them at a smaller scale, they allows me the freedom to chase and realize those bigger dreams I have, so for that I will always be forever touched and forever grateful to each and every one of you. So cheers to all of you and I hope you all enjoy 2024 Wedding Film Reel.

Throughout the entirety of this edit and the one I did for their love story film, it was clear as day that these two are madly in love with each other.

There were so many times where through just a longing glance at his wife, you could tell that there is nothing Micah wouldn’t do for Averi. Subtle glances, followed by “I love you” and a kiss on the lips and forehead. This man would crawl through a tunnel of barbed wire to get to the other end of she was at the other end.

That is so amazing to see with your own eyes too. Two young people loving with their entire hearts. And the even better part is Averi recognizes it too and matches Micah’s tenderness. More often than not we live in a world where everyone is chasing the next best thing and so I always take solace in working with couples that know a great thing when they see it and they latch on and hold each other closely never wanting to let go.

I hope that more and more couples love one another with the warmth and appreciation that Micah and Averi Erickson do, that they never stop dancing, even if it’s for a million years.

I filmed Micah and Averi’s wedding this past Saturday and this Love Story film played during their reception. I say this all the time but I really love this one on one time I get with my couples. I get to see the inner workings of their lives and their relationship.. and see how they work as a unit.

I could tell from the moment we sat down and began filming that Micah and Averi have a mutual magnetism towards one another. Whenever they are together, they are always vibing and talking with each other. There’s never a dull moment and I enjoyed that. It’s a good sign seeing a couple so young (21 and 25) with so much to yap about. As they grow together and life changes, they will have even more to discuss and I think it is a big component to a healthy marriage.

I also found it fascinating that they both recognize what they bring to each other’s lives and they understand how important it is to have that distinct balance.

As I begin the edit of their wedding film, I will continue to look back on this love story and smile as I feel micah and Averi’s collective youthful energy and thirst for life through each frame. Enjoy! #nebraskaweddingfilms #iowaweddingvideographer #midwestweddingvideographer #weddingdress
