Every dream has a beginning. For Elevate, it started in 1997, when a horse-crazy 7-year-old girl new to Bend came to watch the @oregonhighdesertclassics. Seeing the horses and riders compete was Head Trainer Rachael van den Berg’s introduction to the hunter/jumper world. It ignited a lifelong passion and inspired a dream that would one day become Elevate Sport Horses. Today, Elevate gets to help bring the dreams of so many riders to life. From first horse shows, to blue and championship ribbons - every partnership, every breakthrough and every milestone reminds us why we do this. At its heart, Elevate is about building a community where horses come first, people lift each other up and dreams have a place to grow. We couldn’t be more proud of our 10 horses and riders who stepped into the ring this past week. Together, Elevate earned over 39 top three placings, including the following division championships: 🏆 Brooklyn & Finn – Schooling Hunters 🏆 Ellie & TinTin – 2’6 Children’s Equitation 🏆 Josie & Sammy – .80 Jumpers 🏆 Josie & Sammy – .80 Low Jumpers But the ribbons aren’t what we’ll remember most. We’ll remember early course walks, cheering ringside for each other’s successes, cramming in the golf cart, having the best personal round, sharing stories under the set up and hand grazing our horses while watching the sunset. Thank you to everyone who made the return of the Oregon High Desert Classic possible. Thank you to our incredible clients for trusting us with your horses. Thank you to the Elevate team @averyjepson_eq and @reba0815. Thank you to our horse-care team: @horseshoes1976 @nw_animal_osteo @wildlifechiro @muzzo.chiro @blackdiamondequine @fruitionfarmsporthorses and Dewayne Brown. Most of all, thank you to our amazing horses, who give us the opportunity to pursue our dreams with every ride, both in and out of the show ring. #elevateyourself #dreambig #hunterjumper #inbend

🎶 On the twelfth day of Christmas, my barn life gave to me… 12 supple trot poles 💈 Poles tell all. ✨ Trot and canter pole work (although typically much more simple than this) is one of our favorite tools for developing suppleness, rhythm, straightness, adjustability and honest connection. They reveal where a horse may be tight or crooked, and when done well, create elasticity and balance through the whole body. Greta and Profekts beautifully demonstrated just how supple pole work can be… and yes, they completed all 12 poles on their first try 👏🐴 Day 12 of our 12 Days of Christmas, Elevate Edition: From the barn community and horsemanship, to flatwork, pole work, jumping, and everything in between, this series captures a glimmer of what makes life at Elevate so special. Merry Christmas from all of us at Elevate! 12 Days of Elevate Christmas: 12 supple trot poles 💈 11 strides of gallop 🏇 10 Christmas cookies 🍪 9 no-stirrup lessons 🙈 8 clients tacking 👯‍♀️ 7 students sweeping 🧹 6 steps of leg yield ➡️ 5 students jumping 🙌 4 lunge-line lessons 🌀 3 cavalettis 🎅 2 crossbars ❌ And a working student dressing the tree 🎄 #12daysofchristmas #merrychristmas #elevateyourself #barnfamily elevate

🎶 On the eleventh day of Christmas my barn life gave to me… Eleven steps of gallop ❄️🐎💨 We believe horses should get to have fun! A good gallop gives that sense of freedom while also developing the thoracic sling, full-body extension and cardiovascular strength. Day 11 of our 12 Days of Christmas: Elevate Edition - because riding well and having fun should always go hand in hand. #12daysofchristmas #gallop #fun #elevateyourself #smile

🎶 On the tenth day of Christmas my barn life gave to me… Ten clients tacking ❄️🐴 We believe tacking up is a part of the ride. Being hands-on is true horsemanship, but it also builds connection and partnership with our horses before we even put a foot in the iron. In the winter months, we’re especially grateful for our heated communal grooming space that keeps us warm while turning everyday routines into meaningful community time. Day 10 of our 12 Days of Christmas: Elevate Edition - We love spending time with our horses and each other, both in and out of the saddle! 🫶🏻 #12daysofchristmas #elevateyourself #horsemanship #partnership #connection

🎶 On the seventh day of Christmas my barn life gave to me… Seven students sweeping 🧹 At Elevate, we all pitch in, and it shows! Strong horsemanship, shared responsibility and a whole lot of team pride keeps our barn looking top notch throughout the day. Grateful for our students who understand horsemanship lives in the details. Day 7 of our 12 Days of Christmas: Elevate Edition - Developing the next generation of horsemen and horsewomen beyond the saddle. #12daysofchristmas #elevateyourself #teamwork #clean #hunterjumper

🎶 On the fifth day of Christmas my barn life gave to me… Five horses jumping 🧲 The skills we develop at home carry straight into the show ring. Strategic flatwork + thoughtful grid work + intentional coursework = a strong foundation that translate into consistent, positive rounds across the hunter, equitation and jumper divisions. 2025 was an exceptional season, with multiple championships and more blue ribbons than we can count! We’re proud of the success of our horses and riders and can’t wait for the season ahead! #12DaysofChristmas #elevateyourself #2025 #hunterjumper #horseshow

🎶 On the fourth day of Christmas my barn life gave to me… Four lunge-line lessons 🙌🌀🎓 Seat lessons on the lunge line are a powerful way for riders to build balance, strength and true independence of the aids. With the horse safely guided, riders can fully focus on their own position and body awareness without worrying about steering. Lunge lessons benefit riders of all levels. As recently shared by @equestriancoach during a clinic, even Olympic-level riders routinely return to seat lessons to refine feel, effectiveness and alignment. Our trusted school horses provide a safe, consistent platform, making seat lessons an invaluable tool for developing a strong, effective foundation that supports riders at every stage. Day 4 of our 12 Days of Christmas: Elevate Edition, creating strong, educated riders from the ground up. #12DaysofChristmas #elevateyourself #handsup #strong #safety #hunterjumper #dressage #foundation #lungelinelesson

🎶 On the third day of Christmas my barn life gave to me… Three cavaletti 🎅✨ Cavaletti are a powerful training tool we use in our training program within grid work, courses and as stand-alone exercises encouraging: 🎅Correct body use for both horse and rider 🧑‍🎄 Improved elasticity, flexibility and balance 🎅Development of rhythm, balance and adjustability in the canter and trot 🧑‍🎄 Sharpening of rider accuracy and timing Day 3 of our 12 Days of Christmas: Elevate Edition, where purposeful exercises build understanding and confidence that carry through all phases of riding. #12daysofchristmas #elevateyourself #cavalettiwork #gymnastictraining #hunterjumper #happyholidays

🎶 On the first day of Christmas my barn life gave to me… A working student dressing the tree! 🎄 As a former working student of many years, I know firsthand how much learning happens behind the scenes. The long days, the hard work, the “can you also do this?” moments… all of it matters. We are so grateful for Adelyn & Avery, who show up every day ready to work, learn, grow, and say yes to whatever needs to be done, even decorating the Christmas tree! Here’s to kicking off 12 Days of Christmas: Elevate Edition - an ode to the people and horses who make our community special 💙✨🫶🏻 #12daysofchristmas #elevateyourself #happyholidays #barnfamily #hunterjumper #dressage #barnlife
